Do you think people can be "magnets"?

Are you, or is someone you know, a "magnet" for something? I swear, I am a magnet for certain things! So are two other people I know. One of them is a magnet for crazy situations, as in, if anyone is going to have their car break down in the middle of an intersection while in labor and enroute to the hospital, causing a traffic jam that backs up for miles, it would be her. The second person has the very unfortunate "magnetic power" of being vomited on. I know, it sounds nuts, but it has happened to her SO many times that it just isn't a coincidence anymore, it's downright freaky!

Does anyone else have this kind of "magnetic" personality or whatever causes this? Any thoughts?

ohhhhhhhh that's gross....maybe your friend needs to find new places to hang out...

I have a friend I haven't seen in a while that we used to call the "Kook Magnet" - everywhere she went, strange people would come up and start conversations with her. Not stranger strange, but STRANGE people.

Hey, wait a minute...I was a friend of hers...hmmm

It has happened to her in various places! Case in point, she went to a baseball game and the woman in front of her had morning sickness and turned around (don't ask me why she turned around) and barfed on this girl! And it goes without saying that EVERY baby she holds will throw up on her... It's truly a phenomenon of nature or something.

maybe she shakes the babies too much..

My family says I am a magnet for "interesting" people. It seems no matter where we go an "interesting" or "unusual" person feels the need to share with me. It's sometimes very nice, some times it leaves me with that deer-in-the-headlights look. It is sort of an ongoing joke. "So Jen, how many friends did ya make today?"

For Example: My Mom and I were at a grocery store. I checked out before her and was waiting for her to finish. This old woman with extreme blue eyeshadow and dark red slashes of blush with a skirt and rolled down knee hi hose comes up to me -out of the blue- and starts talking about her dog. Her dog is nice but pees on the floor, it never used to but now it does etc, etc

Ugh!

I seem to attract stary animals. If there is a hurt/stray animal within 50 miles of me, it will find me and make me feel bad so I take it in and get it back to health.

I went on vacation once so DBF and I could have some time away from our dog and other pets.

On the first night, we found a pigeon with a broken wing and took him in to fix him up.

Just call me Ms. Dr. Doolittle

I am fondly (or maybe not so fondly) known as The Weirdo Magnet. My husband just walks away, he's gotten used to it. I kid you not when I say that total strangers feel the need to tell me ALL of their business whether I want to hear it or not. It's a curse, I tell you!!

Uhhh, that would be me exactly.

I'm all giddy now that I know I'm not the only one!! :goodvibes

DH would tell you I'm a magnet for the dsyfunctional. I do seem to attract people who are sort of lost in life. I'm pretty easy going in real life, and I talk to everyone. This drives DH nuts, he asked me the other day when we were in the grocery store and I met a "new friend" if it was possible to ever go in the store without picking someone up. :p

Maybe it's just grocery stores.... There was a bag boy at the store I used to shop at and when he saw me in the store, he woud go out and wait by my car until I finished shopping and then he would talk to me all about his life while I loaded my groceries into my car. He was a complete stranger, too, not someone I knew.

I have the same problem, total strangers will walk up to me and tell me their whole life story... I was at Hersheypark one summer, and there was a really good band performing in the amphitheater, after the show, the one singer came out, sat down beside me and proceeded to tell me that she was troubled, she said she loved the band, but she was thinking of leaving the band to get married and start a family, she told me all about her boyfriend, and the pros and cons of her decision...I sat there stunned wondering if this was a long lost friend that I had forgotten, when she finished she thanked me for being there and listening to her, and told me that when she saw me she just knew that I was someone she could talk to...
