I know its cheeky but when we do our DVC tour do you think its worth asking our guide, as we are staying at AKLV if he could get us a savannah view in the one bedrrom we have booked and tell him we have a deal if he does:lmao:
I have heard of some really bizarre deal breakers which have been granted and wondered if this would be pushing it. Please dont think i am after a free upgrade because I will pay for one if he says no anyway we have already decided on that if it is at all possible on renting points. Going before thankgiving I thought the resort might be a bit quieter.

If you have booked accommodation on points (as a DVC member or a renter) you cannot pay for an upgrade on arrival. You could ask the guide but, while I'm sure they might be prepared to offer some extra incentives (I have heard of fast passes, free ice creams, gift cards), I think it is highly unlikely he will be able to get you a savannah view. Upgrades with DVC are rare and usually only because of overbooking, rooms going out of service etc. (i.e. emergency situations).

Without wanting to sound harsh, it is worth bearing in mind if you are considering buying in to DVC that upgrades are non-existent and you will have to book the level you want to stay in. Definitely something to consider whn making your decision.

Everythings worth a try, especially in this economic climate. Best of luck

Wilma i know there are no upgrades with DVC but when we stayed last year we did ask to upgrade but they could only do 2 of our 4 nights and that was on points:confused3 we would hv paid what rack room was to upgrade .
I dont expect to be upgraded free never had anything from disney free not even on our wedding there my dd birthday or my 40 th last year. Never been lucky like tht yet stood behind people usually american who have had an upgrade. I expect what iv paid for but as i will be spending over £16000 i thought i might ask. He can only say no hey.got a free gift card and fast pass for just doin the tour.
Im hoping the friends and family comes back on offer but knowing my luck it wont.
Skels thankyou for your words of encouragement. Like u say if u dont ask u dnt get:rotfl:

Of course yes. Everything is worth asking for especially if its with the economic aspects. You have the right to know and learn other things.

Just wanted to say if you are booked on points you can not upgrade with cash.

I would also be wary of asking as you are staying on rented points - I would be worried that the guide might try to work it out or you and mess with th ponts o the person you had rented fom. If it was a cash booking I would say yes but not when you are staying on someone else's points.

Ok elise I wouldnt want to get my renter into any trouble. I am not going to upgrade at the desk as we will not be in room much. I dont thin my renter has any more points for this year and it is quite a jump I think to savannh view in a one bedroom. I am gonna ask our guide though(Well Im not DB will:lmao: he is cheeky Im not)when we purchase. Can only say no hey.:thumbsup2
I did my an error with my above post.It was SSR we asked to upgrade and we booked that through disney so thats why they said we could have done it but no one beds availible.
