Has anyone ever noticed how well our names represent us?

For example......

DH calls me Donut because at night I can be enthusiastic with my powder after as shower.......like a powdered Donut.

wink....wink

I would say 99% could not care less what you have to say. You keep posting garbage over and over again. What's the point?
I think the point is that what I'm posting is not garbage. If you read it as such, then that's your mistake. Something isn't garbage just because you disagree with it. And bring this back on-topic, a vacation destination isn't actually going downhill just because you, and a bunch of other people who agree with you, feel that it is. The point made earlier in the thread is that Disney is doing quite well, with lots of new guests coming in, and lots of returning guests still quite happy with the value they're getting.

you keep quoting me. Catch a clue.
I suspect the clue you're referring to is one you could catch yourself. :confused3 If not, Indiana Rose Lee would likely, and rightfully ask, why not? Why not let me disagree with you, without you calling my perspective "garbage"? Again bringing this back to on-topic, I think this indicates a pretty common trend in the consumer marketplace, something that Disney is almost surely very well aware of: What consumers say they feel, and what they actually feel, as indicated by their actions, often differ radically. That may explain why Disney has such high load-levels despite so many people claiming disaffection.

Maybe we can re-name the thread.....

Do you think someone has driven this thread downhill in the last few pages?

I crack myself up!

Hi Goofy4Prez!

Your points are valid and well taken. As Kelly mentioned above she does have to "cut" corners for her to go to WDW, as do most people including us. Example she mentioned was that could no longer buy the park hopper feature for her tickets. I also did a conservative allocation for a cost for WDW. This is for 2 adults, 2 children, 1 week, value resort, 7 days of tickets, food (counter service), airfare $200 pp round trip) and $100.00 for souveniers. The cost is approximately $3282.00 withOUT tax. Not really inexpensive.

Since we are still arguing about expensive vs. inexpensive, my family of 6 (next trip) can drive down, buy tickets, stay in a condo and eat for about $3000 for 2 weeks. It is all about what you do, where you stay, how you travel and what you eat, number of rooms for some of us. Perspective. I can't do Universal less expensively, to use the apples argument. My perspective makes this inexpensive for my family.

And to you I say, "That's GREAT". For those that want to stay on property even with the Magical Express, it can get expensive. But, you're right, it's all semantics.

What I'm beginning to realize, though, is that a lot of the objections really aren't objections with details, such as those you outline, but rather objection to the injection of actualities and other such considerations into the discussion, as a whole.

That is great but basically you are cutting corners as well because staying on site would be much more expensive for you.

Where are the "MODS" when you need one-I got zapped for something that was quite ridiculous(used a "bad" word without even cussing) got 30 points and probation!!!:scared1: This thread has really become a "battle of wills/wits" or whatever,People are REALLY attacking each other, but yet no "MODS"? What's up with that? I guess it just depends on what kind of mood they are in,or the subject of discussion-Personally,I would shut this puppy down.:rolleyes1

A one word response:

WOW!!!!!

Most excellent come back! (No offense Indiana and nothing personal, honest) Just reading through the posts here and this one floored me!

A+ there KellyNY - top notch!:thumbsup2

Not even a little. Why not just accept that Disney is inexpensive as compared to the alternatives I've scoped out?

.

WDW was less expensive than the destinations I priced this Spring as well. I would not call WDW cheap but it sure costs less than many other vacations that I priced.

Cape Cod is a good example. St. John USVI is another (and our favorite vacation destination). Key West is pretty expensive, especially once you budget in dining. Also try pricing out a balcony on an Alaska cruise.

I priced all of these except the Cape and Disney came in costing the least amount of money.

I believe that some folks are confusing "cheap" with inexpensive". Disney is not cheap.............but IMO there is a great value for my dollar and if i price out a similar resort vacation for my family I find DIsney is inexpensive in comparison. I will admit that my deluxe stays are few adn far between, I seldom will justify that amount of money on lodging.

DH and I spent 5 days in Daytone Beach over the 4th of July. The trip was $2000 and spending was $1000. Rental car was $450. When I priced our April trip for 4 people with my code I got the entire thing minus airfare for 2400. Race Week was really expensive!

Last summer we went to NYC and spent 3 days. Now that was expensive!

Hampton Beach for 3 nights and 4 days last week cost $850 just for the room. Food was nto "cheap". And that was less money than the RI shore. I priced a room (the only one of the few available with ocean front rooms) and the price was $1200 for three nights. And the amenitie was "coffee on the weekends"

I think perhaps, as a previous poster suggested, value is what we go to WDW for.

Been to WDW 6 times since 2004 and I am going again in Sept. Like everywhere else, WDW is making cut-backs and changing things because of the poor economy. Going downhill? No, they still offer a ridiculous amount of entertainment and vacation for your $$$ overall and not to mention a great escape from reality.

Yeah, they keep raising tickets prices each August, but they are still offering room & package discounts and free dining. And in reality, how many guests actually buy a 1 day ticket..So some things have changed, but it's far from a downhill slide...at least not yet...:hippie:

And since this an internet forum you can post your perspective. But judging by the amount of people that have singled you out specifically; it seems like no one really cares what your perspective is.

The same could be said about you and your posts, considering the low amount of posts that you actually have and they have been quite judgmental in the past.:confused3:confused3:confused3

I will only answer the question first started by the OP...NO I personally don't think WDW has gone downhill

But they have always offered discounts (like free dining) even before the economy went down and even when tickets weren't that expensive...and if you think about it, its not just about 1 day tickets. Even during a package stay, now rates go by night. Every night of your stay could be a different rate depending on the time of year and the day of the week and rates are going higher.

Of course. But for us that is the norm. And the tickets are actually better, including park hopping and water parks. My point is that the trip can cost what someone wants it to. Staying in 2 rooms at the boardwalk would make it $7500 dollars. We choose not to do that, lol!

Heck, we went to dl for free. How many places offer that?

So rather than cutting corners we 've made out.

Lol, that is what it should have been all along. They are merely closing loopholes.

I forgot how these boards work. Low post count equates to essentially lower class here. My opinion, which really doesn't matter to anyone, is that the product has declined. I have nothing to base it on other than my own experience. Some people agree, others don't. I still don't get the debate. How can anyone be right or wrong?

And I like to think of my responses as more common sense. Disney does a lot of things really well and others not so much. Again my opinion.
