Do you take your shoes off?

Soarin' is my favorite ride - I plan on using up my GAD Donald FP's to do it 3 times (plus what I can get with regular FP).
WHen I'm on line, being a big mouth, I have to share my enthusiasm. I ask people if they've done it before, if they haven't I tell them to make sure they take off their shoes, even if they're wearing sneakers! When you do the ride barefoot, you feel like your feet are going to get wet as you glide over the whitewater and the surfer..
Does anyone else do this? If not, try it next time!

Yuck!

Sounds like this would fit better in the current thread HERE named-

"Smells in the World?"

I took my flip flops off once. Wearing flip flops isn't much "coverage" anyway though. :rotfl: However, I wouldn't take my tennis shoes off...seems like that would cause a hold up when it's time to exit the ride if a bunch of guests had to put their shoes back on and tie them up. The ride loads slowly enough as is!

I don't tend to wear sandals or flip flops in the park, but if I did, that would be the only way I would take off my shoes. Why waste time??

I do, but only because I'm always wearing flip flops and they tell you to remove those! I wouldn't do it if I were wearing tennis shoes though. The thought of removing my shoes and I'm sure sweaty socks for others to see/smell is not a pleasant idea!

Agree that is all we need a bunch of people taking the time to take off and put back on shoes and socks when it isn't necessary! Plus to mention there would be a lot of new "scents" added to soaring and not the pretty oranges and pines!!!

Don't they always tell you take off your sandals and flip flops anyway so they won't fall off while you are up on the ride? I never wear real shoes to the park so I always ride barefoot.

Take off your sneakers? No way. Keep them on please. Can you imagine the stinky feet smell in those little rooms from the people wearing sweaty socks on super hot days? Yuck.

lol..I hadn't thought about foot odor (I tend not to have that particular affliction) - I guess I'll stop recommending it to others. But when I do take off my sneakers, I Just stick my feet back in quickly and then adjust once on a bench outside..I don't make everyone wait for me!

Unless you are on the bottom row, that is plain nasty. I don't want some strangers smelly feet hanging over my head.

It is more fun if you take your shoes off...seems more real that way somehow. I always have on slip-ons though, so it's easy enough to do. I've seen lots of other people do it, and I never smell any feet! :goodvibes

Me and the kiddos do the same thing. We stick our feet in the shoe to walk out to the bench and then readjust them there. Making others wait would be inappropriate. I think it adds a great extra sense to the ride. (DH says that if he removed his, he'd ruin the ride for others.)

The "first step" is admitting that you have a problem.

I always wear Croc Flip Flops and always take them off for Soarin'. I am just not a sneaker wearer and never even bring the them to Disney when we go.

The first time I rode it, I had sneakers on so they stayed on. On our last trip though, I was wearing flip flops and I did take them off. I was afraid of them falling off and hitting someone below.

I raised 3 boys, survived the teenage years. No way would I recommend to anyone that they take their shoes off. Have you ever smelled a teenage boy's sneakers?

I usually wear crocs or fit flops, so yes, I do take them off. I'd hate to have someone hit by my shoe... lol. I don't think I would take sneakers off, even though I don't have stinky feet :thumbsup2

Yes, I usually take my shoes off in the middle of the ride:rotfl2: The people below me can pretend meteroids are coming down!:lmao:

My son wanted to take his Keens off because he said they might fall off(there's no possible way, but whatever). His feet stunk so bad I thought I was going to pass out. I didn't let him do it again, and I felt bad for the woman on his other side. At least we were in row 3 that time!
