Do you take your shoes off?

Yuck!

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Sounds like this would fit better in the current thread HERE named-

"Smells in the World?"

Ah come on now. If you're wearing flip-flops or crocs, there isn't going to be any stinky feet smell.

I wasn't responding about "flip-flops."

Here's a clip from the OP's first post (the one to which I was responding.)

I tell them to make sure they take off their shoes, even if they're wearing sneakers!

I haven't tried it at WDW but I take my sandals off at DL, the sensation of the air on your feet enhances the experience.

I plan on no shoes at WDW in April and I'm sure my Disney BFF will be right along side me dangling her bare feet.

The "water effect" is the BEST part of Soarin. Well that and the jets and the scene where you feel like you are picking up serious speed going up and over the mountain. OH MAN I want to be on that ride right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is no "water effect" in Soarin'.

I don't know what you're feeling, but it ain't SUPPOSED to be there. :scared1:

:goodvibes

:confused3 I'm not sure if you are serious or joking. I'm almost 100% sure that you are supposed to feel like you are going over water in at least one scene.

Definitely leave my shoes on. I wear Converse hi-tops to the park and they're way too much hassle to take on and off. Soarin' is supposed to be relaxing! Also, I'm not exactly the biggest fan of feet in general ...

I'm speaking LITERALLY.

For instance, in all of the 3D films at WDW (HISTA, Muppets, Philharmagic, Tough to Be a Bug) there are "live" practical water EFFECTS.

The theaters all have plumbing and water valves that, when given an electrical cue from the computer (which is synced to the film via time-code and/or MIDI,) actual water is sprayed onto the audience.

That is what I mean by a water effect.

Just flying a camera close to the surface of water is not a water effect.
That would be called a "point-of-view" (POV) camera shot.

Soarin' DOES have
1- Motion Effects
2- Scent Effects
3- Wind Effects
4- Audio Effects

But, no Water Effects.

I take them off if I'm wearing flip-flops or crocs, but not if I was wearing sneakers. I really don't think it makes a difference to the ride if you have shoes on or not.

Thanks for the explanation. Sorry for the confusion. I wasn't referring to water literally being poured on you or anything like that. I meant that they try to make it feel as though you are just about skimming the water. I think that feeling is enhanced sans shoes.

I often wear sandals or flip flops and those I will take off. Tennis shoes stay on though.

This is my favorite ride and I am not a fan of being cooped up in shoes so mine always come off. This being said, I am usually wearing sandals that they request you take off. I wouldn't want them to fall on someone while I am enjoying the ride.

I do!!!
I also take my shoes off on Kali RIver and place them in that center Holdy thingy :rotfl2:

I LOVE soar'n :lovestruc

I usually wear flip flops, so I do take them off when I ride. I agree that it makes for a better ride. It's almost freeing.

Although, if I was wearing sneakers I probably wouldn't bother taking them off. Too much of a hassle.

yes i did .. i took my shoes off, and my friend didnt do it the first time we rode it, but the second time she did...
