I was taking GNC's women's ultra mega (I think that's the name). Anyway, they were huge and I'm not one to have trouble taking vitamins or pills. I was supposed to take two a day, but most of the time I forgot to take ONE a day; never mind two.

What multivitamin do you take? Have you noticed any difference in energy level?

TIA

I just take a centrium multi-vitamin every night with dinner.

always take it with dinner...otherwise I'll forget.

I still take pre natal vitamins. My Dr feels they are the best, and with my copay the cheapest:D

Flinestones Chewables - 2 a day :)

I hate taking pills and my dr. says they are just fine!

I take OneSource multivitamin for active adults. I love them, easy to swallow and I feel so much better when I'm taking them. My dd takes the teen ones. I get them at WalMart.

My doctor said to take OneSource from Wal-Mart. He said they have everything that expensive vitamins have and are much cheaper.

One more for Flintstones! Check the nutritional information, they're great for adults! Fun, too. Plus, it's always entertaining to tell people what you take - they're swallowing boring multi's for adults, while I'm enjoying yummy chewable cartoon characters! They always look at me funny, but when I explain they provide all the vitamins you'll need, they start to think about picking some up themselves. I'll never stop being a kid, so I figure children's vitamins will keep me young... :p

I also take Flintstone Vitamins. They taste like candy!

I take Calcium (store brand) and I just recently started taking Weight Smart vitamins. They are a multi-vitamin with green tea to boost metabolism. I hope they work! :D

Robmom, just be careful with those Weight Control OneADay's....I took them for 2 whole days before throwing the bottle out....they are PACKED with caffeine and after two nights of my heart racing I couldn't take it anymore. I've decided to just drink green tea if I want its benefits.

What's worse is that my sister took them as well, and she started throwing up after meals. A quick visit to a vitamin messageboard confirmed for her it was happening to others as well. She also threw out her bottle.

Just a friendly warning!

I am a Women's Ultra-Mega taker too, but I like to take extra calcium. Now I am trying to reorder my vitamin life because I am taking extra vitamins to help my hair grow stronger and healthier.

Schiff multi for Vegetarians. It says to take 2 but I only take 1. A very noticeable difference in energy. I have to take them in the morning. If I take them at night I either can't get to sleep or wake up too early in the morning!

I'm not taking them now, but when I do/did take multi vitamins, I took Centrum. Centrum did have a chewable version for awhile, whoich was great, but it's gone now.

I preferred Centrum because with other brands, my pee would be neon yellow after taking it...which meant it wasn't being absorbed by my body. That never happened with Centrum.

I will likely start taking Flintstones now, though, cause I hate swallowing pills. :crazy2:

:thewave:

I take Oil of Olay womens one a day plus and one iron pill.

Vitams are absorbed better if you take them with orange juice.

herc.

I take the GNC Women's Ultra Mega, too. Huge green pills. I take one when I get up and one when I get home from work or with dinner (try to space them out about 12 hours). Not sure that I get more energy from them. I take them to ensure I get all those small, pesky minerals that I don't always eat in my fruits and veggies.

I take Melaleuca's multivitamin and calcium tablet. My chiropractor recommended these because I was having horrible muscle spasms in my back due to not eating properly/getting the right nutrition. I've noticed a HUGE difference. (Plus, I try to eat better now.)

Ditto.

Those made me VERY naseous after I took them for some reason...very light headed. I stopped taking them too.

Plus, I read somewhere that the "weight smart" part of it - basically caffiene and similar to what you would find in a cup of coffee. It really does NOTHING to boost your metabolism. I would do a google search on them. If you're going to do a one-a-day...stick to the regular, women's, or "active" one. I never had any side effects with them.

Oh - and my pee is bright neon yellow when I take Centrum...actually, when I take ANY vitamin...I thought that was normal of all vitamins.

Gosh, stinkerbelle, you too? I am really glad I got rid of mine immediately...my body behaved very badly when I would take them, but it was somehow easier to rationalize taking them in the morning after I finally got to sleep. Thank god I put a stop to it immediately.

However, green tea does have many health benefits, so I like to take a normal vitamin and just have some green tea seperately!

Hey, my pee is neon yellow as well, but I thought women's ultra mega had some special timed release or something to have maximum absorption. I think the reason my pee is so colorful is because there is so much of everything in that vitamin the body just uses what it can.

I knew I knew this - but I just forgot it. heheh

it's the B2 in the vitamin - this is totally normal!

Text: Something that can really change the color of urine is the
vitamin B2 (riboflavin). If you swallow a vitamin B2 supplement, and the
amount is more than your body needs, the vitamin is excreted in the urine.
The urine will be a VERY bright yellow - almost fluorescent (except it
probably will not glow in the dark!). But there is nothing wrong with you
when this happens - it is just your body getting rid of extra vitamin B2.
Some health authorities use this as an example that taking large doses of
vitamins only makes expensive urine. However, nutritionists who advocate
large vitamin supplementation counter by saying that it is only when the
excess amounts of vitamins spill over into the urine that you know for sure
that your body is getting the maximum amount of the vitamins.
