Do you still have Xmas decorations up?

The twelve days of Christmas come after Christmas...the 12th day being January 5th. The Epiphany is January 6th, and the last day of the Christmas season. This is also a day to remember the visit to Jesus made by the three wise men. Some cultures give gifts on this day. We keep our lights up until January 6th for this reason, so perhaps that is why you see others do the same. :)

Just took mine down today, I usually leave the tree up until Jan 6th. Tomorrow after work I will start putting the regular things back up.

We just took ours down today, which was a few days late for our family. We usually take them down the day after new years but my mom passed away on New Year's Day and we have been moving in slow motion around here. :sad1:

my parents took their tree down on Dec. 25th (the tree that had gotten was really dry and branches kept breaking and ornaments kept falling off). mine is still up and will continue to be so until around march...it's only a foot tall though :teeth:

Nope, they came down last weekend.

I used to keep my decorations up until the 7th, but they always MUST come down at least 5 days before my birthday (which is mid-January). DH, however, is known affectionately as "The Grinch", and he hates all the "fuss, bother and forced obligations" of Christmas. :rotfl2: He enjoys the spiritual aspects of the season, but hates everything else. I almost didn't persuade him to put up with a tree in the house this year - I had some help and we got one in despite his protests. We've worked out a compromise - I get to decorate to my hearts content, but the decorations only stay up for one month. This year I decorated on the last day of November, so I kept my promise and took everything down on Dec. 31.

He has been a sweetie, though, and has bought me extra storage containers for all my Christmas decor and a new tree stand without complaint. He even surprised me by putting up Christmas lights in our bedroom. Like the Grinch, his heart does grow 3 sizes...

All indoor ones were taken down by me & stored away 2 days after Christmas.

It's DH's job to take down all the outdoor decorations, so they'll probably be there thru Easter. No kidding! :rotfl:

:rotfl:

Okay - so I should be hanging my head in shame. But I had a tough enough time getting the family to help me put the darn things up! Getting up into the attic with a broken leg IS NOT going to happen until the rest of the family get sick of them.

Besides, Epiphany was just yesterday ( not something we usually celebrate, but if it gives me an extra week, it's good with me )!

We've been boxing everything up today. I took some stuff down early this year (the day before yesterday) and felt weird about taking it down before Christmas was over. The only thing left in the house is the bare tree and it will go out tomorrow.

Leaving my outside lights on through the Epiphany. We will probably take down our tree in the living room (artificial) by the end of the month but my DS begged me to leave it up till March. :rotfl:

I don't have anything up outside this year, just a wreath on the door, but the inside is still decorated...it makes me happy! :goodvibes

We kept ours up through Epiphany (Jan 6). Everything is boxed up and ready to be put back in storage. The Christmas tree actually got taken down last
Tuesday, but our nativity collection (I have probably about 10 or so altogether, including a huge Fontinini one that get new figures added each year) was packed up yesterday evening.

I took ours down the Fri before New Year.

All gone! I like to get back to "normal" after Christmas.... kinda put the count down on for spring!

No lights went up outside this year...

Since, to me, Christmas was over on Friday, our stuff is still up. I like to leave it up through the Church's official Christmas season. We're having the feast day celebrated today, so I imagine I'll start taking it all down tomorrow.

All the indoor decorations came down over the course of New Years Day and the day after. The outside decorations are down w/ the exception of the lights in the bushes. We didn't get to them on New Years- then it got really cold again and started snowing. Now the bushes are covered in snow. So---They are still out, but they are no longer being turned on.

I know we ran to Walmart last night. I was pointing out all the houses w/ Christmas Tree's still light up in the window. 3 years ago my MIL left hers up until Good Friday!!! I thought that was a bit too long. She did mention last week she has no intentions of taking it down. She didn't want it up and her boyfriend insisted. So, unless he takes it down she said it can stay up all year long. The scary part is I don't see either one of them taking it down-- they are incredibly lazy.

On a side note-- I did notice 2 houses the other day that still had their Halloween decorations out!!!
