Do you still get a little scared in the Haunted Mansion?

I've been in the HM I don't know how many dozens of times and I still get startled every time I ride through the 2 scenes where those creepy masked things come popping out of the ground....some make a weird screaming sound and some don't.

Of course I still scream a little on TOT and RNR, but that's to be expected. :earboy2:

So fess up....who else still gets scared on that ride or any other that you've been on and know what to expect?

Yep, those popping up guys make me jump me everytime! I love it! :) The attic bride still creeps me out too... :scared:

Funny that you posted this, I was thinking about it the other day. If I'm riding alone I still get "spooked" in certain parts, like the bride.

Me too! It's so wonderfully creepy. And I think no matter how many times I go on TOT, I will always, always be scared out of my mind.

The bit where the ghosts try to get outta the rooms and the moving eyes in the pictures!

We were in one of the last cars and I think we missed some things in the ride due to timing? We were stuck in one spot for a while & our Doombuggy was turned backward. I'm looking forward to riding it again but, not in the back. ;)

What creeps me out everytime is the hanging person when you look up in the entry, and then the little beautiful lady in blue on the ledge as you leave! How creepy! I LOVE that ride!
I tried to look for the ring in the pavement as I left and couldn't find it... :earseek:

Last week I had to ride HM twice by myself because my sister and uncle went in their own doombuggy. I'll be honest, I was scared! The last time we rode it was at MK's evening EMH so it was dark of course. There was hardly anyone in line and about 20 people in the stretching room so the CM had a blast with us! He made my sister stand in the middle and separated my uncle and I because I was telling him I was a little scared. Anyway, my sister had scared me and the CM got her back! After the part when the lights go out he was standing behind her and laughed right in her ear. It was great!

I can't look at the attic bride, I'd imagine that thing back in the hotel room! And the little bride at the end ... "Hurry back, hurry baaaaack. We've been dying to have you" *hides under bed*

Oh yeah - I found the ring in the pavement!!! My sister and I walked to where the 2 different pavement styles meet and looked around and sure enough, there it was! It was really small. A CM was walking in through the exit and he said something like "Glad to see you found her ring" and winked! That was probably, next to the performer in Italy, the best part of the trip!

The people running the ride scare me! One time the butler who let us in came up right behind me so that when I turned around he was only an inch from my face staring at me. I screamed like a little girl! Ever since then I'm always nervous until I actually get in the doombuggie.

It's a fun kind of scared, but definately creeps me out as an adult. I think I'll forget to bring my death certificate this time though! (Love that ending!)

I have to admit I will no longer go on this ride :sad2:
I find it too scary :scared1: and way too gruesome for me :scared: I would be okay with just ghosts but anything to do with a cemetary really upsets me. I know, I know ~ lighten up ~ but I just don't find it all that funny. :o
More power to you ~ this is one less person that you will have to wait behind.
:wave2: .

This ride always creeps me out too. Especially the pop up tomb stone guys, I always hide behind my husbands shoulder when it gets to that part.

Hehe, I put on the "strong adult" act when I'm with the kids, and when I'm alone - I don't ride! It's sort of like thunderstorms - it's easier to get through when you have someone to reassure. I haven't noticed much of the detail yet, but there are points throughout the ride that creep me out. I wouldn't ride ToT alone, either. I don't like the part between boarding the elevator and the drops - creepy and TOO LOUD!

Yes!!! The heads that pop up... like almost everyone mentioned before me... they still freak me out. Although, I timed it one time, they pop up about every 5 seconds (I'm not positive though, so don't quote me on that). And riding alone... freaky. I went early one day, one of my first rides of the day and it was me and two other people in the stretching room. When we "found a way out" I prentended to play with my back pack just in case a CM decided to jump out or something (you never know :confused3 ). But talk about scary, it was just me and those other two people in the whole ride. Normally there are at least alot of other people in the DoomBuggies to sort of go through it with you, but this time... :sad2: But at least it was fun. :earsboy:

I don't think I'd make it on this attraction. The last time I went to a Haunted House was when I was 17 and some guy dressed like Freddy Kreuger jumped out at me and I punched him in the nose and in the dark I heard a loud THUD. I got hysterical and they had to turn the lights on and lead me out. I guess I just don't scare well. :rolleyes1

Lizzybee there aren't any "real" people in the ride once you're on it and it's fairly tame and seeing as that it's a ride at WDW, it's not gorey or bloody. For the most part, it's pretty tame.

I'm not a haunted house/scary movie sort of person AT ALL and really enjoy the HM. I just think it's funny that I know what to expect and still get caught a little off guard each time I ride it.

Ride it at least once w/someone you can hang onto in case you get scared.
