Do you stay at your home resort or Hop

Just bought the 100 point for AK. I was wondering how many people stay at thier home resort and how many people hop?

We love our home resort (SSR), but are currently trying to stay at each one, so that we can experience all of them. If, though, I'd have to stay at SSR due to no availability elsewhere, I would not be dissapointed!

We're going down this month and staying at VWL for the first time.. Our home resort is SSR and we've stayed there a few times but we've also stayed at OKW, AKV and VB.
We'd like to try them all!

Whem you say hop do you mean with each trip, or changing each time you go. I like to do split trips. Last time I was at SSr for 4 days than BCV for 4 days. So I plan accordingly with the parks and DDP reservations depending on the part of "the world" I am in at the time.

I always book at my home resort at 11 months. If I would like to stay somewhere else, I call at 7 months to see if it is possible. This way I'm guaranteed a room when I want it.

Well the last couple of years, we've kind of hopped around. But I really haven't found any resorts we like better than our home resorts (VWL, AKV and HHI), so I'm thinking in the future we'll just pretty much stay there and be assured of getting our ressies at 11 months. Even when I do hop, I always get an 11 month ressie and then change it at 7 months. DW and I have been discussing this and have pretty much decided upon the following plan from now on. We have enough points to basically make three trips a year. We plan on staying one week (7 days thanks to the new charts) at WDW at either VWL or AKV (alternating every other year) and stay twice a year at HHI, with one week (June) being a 1BR and one week (September or October) a studio.

Well, we have only stayed at SSR on DP and BLT is not open yet, but I guess we will be hoppers. We plan to stay at BLT in September, but after that we would like to try some of the other resorts. I think that it will be fun to see what each one has to offer.

I own at BWV and mostly stay there but I've hopped around too. I've also stayed at OKW, BCV, VWL and have a reservation this summer at AKV.

We have hopped and hope to hop some more in the future. We always book SSR our home resort at 11 months then try and switch to another resort at 7 months. If we can't switch we love SSR so that's OK too.

We've never done a split stay. More times than not though, we are not at our home of BWV. Most likely we're at VB or HHI, with a stay here and there at other WDW resorts. Since 98 I think we've stayed a our home 4 times.

We spend most of our time at our home resort, OKW, but do split our stays amongst the other DVC resorts. This year we are staying at VWL,SSR,BCV and OKW.

We usually stay at one of our home resorts (VWL, AKV), but sometimes hop. This month we're doing 2 nights at VWL then hopping over to the Poly for 3 nights (concierge)

We prefer our home resorts, but we've stayed at most of the DVC resorts - HHI because we like it there, and others because we booked after 7 months.

We like some more than others, but a day at DVC definitely beats a day at work, lol.

Another hopper here. We love SSR, our home resort, but it's nice to have the option to go to the other resorts. We like going to AKL when it's just DH and I. DS9 likes BCV. We've never had a problem getting reservations at any of the resorts, even at 7 months (except for concierge). I do agree with the advice we received from others to buy where you want to stay the most.

We are SSR owners and also AKV owners. Our first dvc trip was a split stay at SSR and BWV. Then we stayed at SSR next. Then we did another split at OKW and BCV. Then we stayed at SSR again. Oh and in Jan. we stayed at OKW. This summer we are going back to BCV and trying Vero.

SSR is on our "short list" tho for possibly spring break of 2010. (Not sure yet with the new charts if we'll even do that trip now or not tho.)

In fact, my family was SUPPOSED to be hopping with Denise's family from BCV to AKV this summer, until she decided to try Vero instead of AKV.

Our home resort is SSR, but we've only stayed there twice.
