on foods in the grocery prior to check out?
calie_j said:I have a regular customer who always eats a banana while shopping and brings up the peel to pay for it. I charge him 25cents since I can't weight the banana he ate which probably only cost 15-20cents. He's never complained about it and expects to pay so it works out but it's a small store and our register isn't computerized to scan.

I used to do this when the sweetpea was younger. She always needed just one nilla wafer while we were in the store. I sometimes will also open up a bottle of water and sip on it till I get to the checkout and then have it rung up. I dont think there is anything wrong with snacking in the store as long as you pay for it. I do find a problem with people snacking on produce or candy from the bin who have no intention to pay.
