Do you sleep with your wedding ring on?

I take off my rings as soon as I get home from work. I usually take them off when I type as well because the diamond twists around and annoys me. Sometimes, I don't even throw them back on if I run out in the evening to the grocery store or wherever.

My husband, however, wears his all the time, unless he is at the gym.

As soon as I come home from work I take my watch off, then put my ring on my watch and close the clasp. Earrings come off too.

I only wear my engagement ring. Wearing both my engagement and wedding rings really makes my hand swell.

I don't wear jewelry at home.

The ring is just an outward sign. If we were too poor to have rings, we would still have the same commitment to each other. We will be married 30 years next month.

nope, I can't sleep in jewelry. rings/necklaces/earrings all come off. I can't workout in them, either. just prefer to be unadorned. all other times they are on, though. :)

I wear my rings 99% of the time. I take of my engagement ring if I'm doing something really messy, but even then I usually wear my wedding band. (It's a plain gold one). My Dh takes his ring off when he's doing anything around water. The skin under his ring gets irritated when it's wet, so it comes of when he showers, swims, or washes his hands.

All our rings right now are sitting in a tub of jewelry cleaner right now. Dh took his off to wash his hands and I noticed it was really getting grungy, so I figured I'd clean his and mine too.

I don't take my rings off. The one exception was when I was pregnant and couldn't wear them.

I take mine off everyday, for example if I have been out all day and when I take my watch off. My diamond sits very high and can get caught or scratch easily. Plus I really don't feel I need a wedding ring on to remind me I am married. To me the day I got married was such a special day, being all dressed up and pretty and to me I like to put my ring on when I feel all dressed up or really just put together, but looking nice. I don't like to wear it while cleaning, or cooking.

I always take off all of my jewlery when I get home. I have almost lost my diamond wearing it around the house doing work, so I take it off, have a special place for it and put it there.

I do have a plain gold band that I put on for trips or if I am going somewhere that I do not want to wear my diamond.

Ditto :thumbsup2

Lots of people I know only wear them "8-5" then put them on the night stand with their keys / wallet / phone....

What's the point of that?
A wedding band is not for show ... its a sign of commitment.... :confused3

Are these people only committed 8-5? :rotfl:

:hippie:

Uh oh, I guess I better tell my dh of 25 years that we are really not committed to each other because we don't wear wedding rings 24 hours a day! ;)

It's a sign of commitment, not THE commitment. I think it's pretty rough for you to imply that people who don't wear their rings 24/7 aren't committed.
I don't need to wear a ring 24/7 for my husband to know that I am committed to him and love him more than anything and visa versa.

no, the marriage is a sign of commitment not the ring, when most do not bother with even getting or staying married anymore. My dad and mom have been married 48 yrs and he has not ever wore a wedding ring in his life (due to work then got use to it) he is just not a ring person.I have mine off when I am at home sometimes because of meds my fingers swell sometimes, but when I leave I do put my ring on.

I do sleep in rings, but all other jewelry comes off. (earrings, necklaces, bracelets) I sleep on my side, and earrings push into my ear and hurt if I leave them in. Necklaces twist around my neck and hurt. Bracelets just annoy me in general lol. I'm really picky about jewelry.

The only time I take my rings off is to shower.

I never take mine off.

I used to take off my engagement ring to shower, clean, etc. One moring I took it off to shower, forgot to put it back on and we left for a week of camping. We returned home and it had been stolen. :scared1: I was a mess.

That scared me into always wearing my rings- I'm scared something will happen to them.

I usually wear my wedding ring to bed. It's loose enough to where if my finger swelled it'd still come off (with a little struggle :rolleyes1). My husband keeps his one 24/7. I wish I could! But I have to wear gloves at work and when I'm in the shower, my ring wants to slip off.

That's horrible! I can totally understand why you wouldn't take your rings off. It would be devistating to lose them.

I only take it off at the jewelry store when its getting inspected. Other than that, it pretty much stays where it is.

Since DD got old enough to take all my money to buy herself jewelry I rarely buy or wear much jewelry. DH bought me a pair of diamond studded earrings that I leave on 24/7 but the wedding rings come off at night, if not sooner, and then back on before I go to work. But like last saturday we had a whole day of yard work, I never put them on. We have been married coming on 25 years in July and we are very happy. DH never takes his off, even during surgery he wouldn't let them but he understands I don't wear much jewelry and I don't like sleeping in jewelry, except earring. :confused3
