In the winter (cooler weather) I do sleep in until 7:00 or 8:00. If I sleep later, I tend to feel lethargic all day.
In the summer, I'm up and outside by 4:00 a.m. to do as much as possible before the sun peeks over the McDowell Mountains and begins to bake everything. It's still dark, but I can sweep the patio, skim the pool, sweep the sidewalks, etc. until it's light enough to begin trimming, pulling weeds and spraying.
I'm back in by 7:00 or 8:00 a.m., do some house work, shower, do the less grubby things, and take a power nap about 11:00 a.m. or noon. Twenty minutes maximum, or I won't sleep that night.
Silly body just doesn't always do what I want it to when i want it to!
Originally posted by cynsaun I WISH! My girls get up earlier on the weekends than they do during the week! I have to pull them out of bed at 8 to get them to school, but on the weekends, they are up at 7!! What's up with that!?!
That was sooo me as a kid. I was an early riser by nature..but NOT on school days. DH use to go and eat breakfast at school..YUCK! I was always late..LOL
But to answer OP..NOPE! It wouldl defiantely screw me up if I didnt get up at my usual time. My kids are out the door and at a park early every morning. We usually picnic for breakfast.
On weekends I wake up about the same time as weekdays, if not earlier. On weekends though, I will stay up for an hour or two, then nap for another hour or two.
Usually have things to do on a Saturday so mostly just get up at the same time as I would on weekdays but if I can it is sure nice to sleep in on a Sunday.
We just got home after being gone for a week - usually the cat wakes me up at 5:30 - which is when I have to get up during the school year. But being gone for the week got him off of his schedule - so he didn't meow outside our bedroom door as usual. The only problem now is that my DM will have to feed him since she's the first one up in the AM!
So yes - we def sleep in on the weekends!
(preshi - I remember those days - a newborn and a pre-schooler! yeah - what's sleep?!)
