I hate the crowds, etc. But yes I buy my weekly groceries there. Every time I go into a regular grocery store, I about fall over at the difference in prices!

The same here. I hate shopping there, but they do have the best prices for what I buy. Just got back from there. Yes, it was crowded, and hot. :earseek: And a woman was eating her lunch in the ladies room while she was doing her business :earseek:

My neice has been working at Walmart for over 15 years in Alabama. She has raised three children and a lazy husband with her salary from Walmart.
Her youngest daughter was born with some cardiac problems and has needed 3 surgeries. If it wasn't for her Walmart Insurance they would have been in real trouble but Walmart insurance paid 100%. They also gave her time off with pay for their travel to the children's cardiac hospital.
I know people complain about the salary but I see it differently.
I also know three people here in CT who work in Walmart that left larger Department stores and are happy at Walmart with the work they do and they salary they receive.

My dad got most of his perscriptions filled at Walmart before he died because Walmart had the cheapest medications. His insurance and Medicare didn't cover alot of his medications and he had ridiculous co-pays. He was able to afford medication because of Walmart.
I shop there as often as I can. I wish they had one closer to me but it takes me over 1/2 hour to get to the nearest Walmart in CT. I shop at Kohls occasionally but Walmart always has what I need. Peggie

Ditto! When I go to a regular grocery store I end up Just getting mad at the prices.I go late at night and the crowds aren't too bad.

I go there occasionally. If we had Super WalMarts here, then it would be a different story!

Our SWM is dirty & most of the cashiers have attitudes. Except for the milk & yogurt, I can get everything else cheaper at our grocery store with double coupons and sales so I only run in for those things every other week. I dread dealing with the parking lot alone!

I do most of my shopping at Target. But when my DS was a baby I went to Wal-Mart for diapers and formula.

I will probably do some back to school shopping their too.

Sure. I shop there. We must not have as bad a Wal-Mart as most. I've never really noticed anything outrageous or offensive. :confused3

I know I shouldn't, but it is the closest grocery store to me. I feel so bad! They are the greedy corporate giant, putting the little guy out of business. My normally capitalistic point of view is skewed here because they are probably getting to big and need to be broken up.

(Did a Republican just say that?)

See, things like that really have me torn! I agree with everything you said, but I also feel bad because they are the greedy corporate giant. UGH!!!

In answer to my own question, I only go when the mood strikes me or I really need something no one else has. And yes, there are things! IMO, Target doesn't compare to Walmart, and is not a substitute for many things.

I avoid is because it's hard to get in and out of and it's really large. Our local grocery store has groceries much cheaper, if that wasn't the case, I'd buy groceries there, too.

REGULAR BASIS...THEREFORE....FRUSTRATED on a regular basis.

I dread the trip, but on our budget, Wal-Mart is a necessity. I have narrowed it down to a Sat evening or Thurs A.M. shopping trip..that cuts down on the crowds pretty well, and my "in-line" time is significantly shorter.

We are on a very tight budget, I can save $20-30 every two weeks grocery shopping at WalMart. You bet your behind this is where I am going.

Walmart is also our first choice for many household and gardening supplies, as well as clothes for my son. I would buy clothes there too if I could find some that fit me outside of the girls department (I am a size 2, Walmart does not carry that size).

When you don't have a lot of money, it is all about the prices.

I shop there on a regular basis. Not that I'm a big fan of them, I'm not. But their food section has things I use for quite a bit less than what Kroger charges. I rarely go to other departments in Walmart.

I voted for "I shop there as a last resort," which is true. I don't have anything against Wal-Mart personally, but their stores are always smelly and messy. I much prefer Target, and honestly I'd pay higher prices at Target just to avoid the smell and mess of Wal-Mart.

I love my Wal-Marts! I've never had any problems there with employees or "type"of customers. There is also a Targer and K-mart in town. I go to Targets when they have something on sale but they don't have lay-away. K-marts here in Monroe is down to a 2-cashier policy due to more budget cuts. I watch my timing here so I don't have to wait in line too long.

Until we get a Target in my area....Walmart is the only choice for some things. I flatly refuse to go there on a weekend.....it's a mess. My son and I did go in last night....they had the Disney 50th Celebration CD for $4.98! While we were there we stocked up on some school supplies: Crayola markers: .50, and single subject notebooks: .10!

nope, I have to drive by a Wal-mart on my way to Target. I haven't been inside in several years and don't see myself going back in one anytime soon.
