I have carefully instructed my two grandsons from an early age on the proper thrill ride screaming technique. If it's a roller coaster, take a deep breath right before the first drop and let it out with a full-out let-'er-rip scream. It gets you through the scary first part and then you can just whoop and holler at will. Some rides, though, don't call for a scream (like R&R Coaster). It's more of a Whoo-hoo! kind of ride. They have also been coached on how to tell the difference. Seriously, though, screaming is definitely part of the fun.
