Do you scan the FP once or twice?

Try again is the only thing I can say. I do it all the time, the second I scan in the first FP. I have my 4th done before I even board the ride. Works 100% of the time. And in the case of when I have only booked 1 or 2 FP at a park and want to book the others in another park, I can do that as soon as I scan in the first check point. Also has worked 100% of the time. Have never had to wait till I scanned in a 2nd time when a ride had a 2nd touch point, such as FoP or ToT. ToT is a great example too, as I always book it as our 3rd FP of the day. We do ST, then RnR, then ToT, every trip. I have our next FP booked before we hit the elevator at ToT.

This is true. My DW does this after we hit the 3rd FP and we consistently get a new one after we scan at the 1st station.

I’ve been modifying & adding FPs while here. I can’t schedule a fourth FP until the second check point. The current ride keeps showing until then. Should I be doing it differently?

I am one of the unlucky ones too half the time I have to wait to get my 4 FP

I just re-read this. Yes, it shows the FP even after you used it. For us they would keep showing up in the list of FPs we had the entire return window even after we used them. And in some cases they hung out all day. But it still let me book the next one even though I could see the previous one in the list. Is it actually giving you an error that people in your party aren't eligible for an FP or are you assuming you have to wait until they disappear from the list?

I used to see 2 checkpoints on almost every ride. Now, I can't remember the last time the second one wasn't covered or not being used. Its a tradeoff. Its slows down the lines, but it helps stop those who crossover from the standby to the FP line, which can be a problem on some rides.

We were there at the same time and saw the same, only FoP and ToT had the 2nd touch point in use. RnR had their covered, it was the first time I've ever seen it covered. All others have always been covered. I asked the CM why they covered them and they told me that too many guests put their tickets away and it slows down the line too much so they cover them. I guess there are more guests using tickets than I thought

Yes, there are a lot of folks using cards and it can slow down the lines. One I see to frequently are large families where the mom is holding onto all the cards and the entire family stands behind her blocking both sides/tapstiles while she pulls them out and slowly scans them one by one.

Glad you were able to do it. Getting that next FP while still in line is a great and wonderful thing.

I know I have tried right after doing the first touch point and it did not work. Most of the time it does but there have been a few times it would not. Glade you did not have that happen to you and that it was that you thought you had to wait.

When FP+ first came out, I can remember 2nd scans happening pretty regularly. Now, the 2nd scan point is almost always covered up and no scan needed. We travel in late August/early September. I suspect lower they may only use that 2nd scan point during heavier crowd times when line cutting may be more of an issue. Those 2nd scan points are staffed, so there is some cost savings in not having it in use.

Are you using the free wifi or your own data plan? I've noticed the app lags out a bit when I try to use their wifi so I just turn it off for the duration of my trip.
