Wow, I never thought there would be so much DIScussion about this thread!
So far, 34 say DIZ, 22 say DIS and 4 of you say all of the letters as in "D" "I" "S". There is logic for each pronounciation. Obviously DIS (diss) comes from the home page of this site, these boards are called the DIScussion boards....and this site is also the Disney Information Station - if you have those thoughts in mind, DIS or D-I-S makes sense.
If you think of the name of these boards as a shortened Disney...then DIZ makes sense. However...there is some discrepancy on the pronounciation of Disney, which I predict is in direct relation to the area of our country in which you live.
I'm curious to know what the moderators call it.

If I remember correctly, when I have heard Pete refer to this site, he has said "the DIZ."

And when I first came here 7 years ago, the boards WERE originally known as the Disney Information Station.

I have always called the it "The DIZ." I am not sure that ALL moderators do though.

I am sure that whatever you call this site - The DIS or The DIZ - it is just fine - just as long as you call it the Best Disney site on the 'net.

To me it has to be DIZ, like another poster said, as in DIZ-NEY, hard sound in the middle, not snakey like - lol.

And because I say it that way everyone who hears it knows I'm referring to a Disney related board. I'm afraid they'd think I was talking about "dissing" type board if I said "Diss- board". LOL

Just the other day I was annoyed at my husband for the umteenth time for saying " you and your dissboards". I cringe when I hear him say that but I've never had the nerve to say it's DIZZ not DISS! I laughed when I saw this thread and called him over to read it and now he knows how to say it RIGHT! IMO!
