My friend calls me the FIFO queen!!!! First In First Out baby, there can be no other way! I do it with everything. Clean ones go on the bottom of the pile. Same with dishes. Water bottles in the fridge get moved up, the ones from the garage that go in the fridge get placed in the back. Soda cans get moved up, cans from the garage (storage) go in the back. It is a very methodical system. My husband doesn't do it and it drives me crazy. How can you just put clean underwear on top of the pile??????
