Inspired by: what did you buy with your 1st Pay cheque thread.

I can remember how much it was. ::yes::

...We were paid weekly back then, I was a Junior Bank Clerk...

£11 (and a few pence) which is approx. US $22.

...and you? :)

$6 an hr for 5 hours=$30.

My very first paycheck (excluding babysitting paychecks) was for a grand total of $240. That was for seven weeks being a camp counselor the summer of '72. Not great pay but it was one of my favorite jobs ever!!! :)

WOW! I am thinking I got paid in wooden nickels..:lmao: No really I am not quite that old.

I do think minimum wage was around $4 an hour though.

First pay check was part time work when at school and got £15 (app $30) for 6 hours work, this was in 1989, as a chambermaid ie housekeeping in a hotel. First real weekly pay check in first full time job must have been about £125 ($250) in 1993 as a shop assistant on the deli counter at Safeway.

Claire ;)

My first non-babysitting job was when I was 16. I worked at a steakhouse for minimum wage - I think it was $3.15/hour in 1983 - and the check was for about $45 after taxes. I am sure I have no idea what I did with the money.

$40 for 5 hours of filming an orchastra concert at my school 2 weeks ago.

$8 an hour and i have graduation next thurs and thats 8-9 hrs!!!! (yessssssssssss)

i havent bought any thing...but its going towards my France trip!

Mc Donad's 144$..I must have worked a lot, because my wage was 3.52$ per hour :scared1: ...

I don't remember the actual amount of the check, but I do remember that when I first became a nurse in 1983, I was making $8.63 per hour.

It was just under $100 for 24 hours of work at McDonalds. This would have been the mid-90's.

Well, my first job was at Wendy's, and it was in 1982- minimum wage was around $3/hr. I think I worked around 15-20 hrs a week, so my first paycheck would probably have been somewhere between $35- 50. Wow- that's kinda depressing- I remember working HARD for that amount!!

$112, for a 14 year old that's not bad at all:thumbsup2
