Ok, can you all tell me if the Authors you are suggesting are contemporary or set back in the 1800's?

I like the Contemporary ones better, but I know others prefer the ones that are set back in time.
For Contemporary try Suzanne Brockman-IO love all her stuff. The books are in order, so check the dates before you start reading them-I';m not sure about the titles prior tot he newest, Flashpoint

Beth, you haven't read my p/m yet. :p

Suzanne writes great books, usually involving characters overlapping in her books, usually Navy Seals that are on a mission and lots of spicey romance thrown in...she is great to read!

Janette Oke is good - the Love Softly series. The initial book was just on Hallmark channel as a movie. It is set out west in the 1800's, there are 8 books total.

I also love Danielle Steel and Nicholas Sparks is awesome. I can't put his books down.

My favorites are Jude Deveraux and Johanna Lindsey (which you mentioned). If you haven't read "Love Me Forever" by JL, you must! Its my favorite, or for a different twist try to find that book in audiobook format (unabridged). The narrator does the accents perfectly and its great listening!

Also, Amanda Quick writes great historicals, she just put out a new one about a month ago. Judith McNaught is a good one too, she has both historical and contemporaries. If you haven't read a LaVyrle Spencer book yet, you should, she has great stories. The two I recommend are the Gamble or Hummingbird.

PM me if you want some more suggestions or would like to talk about them! I'd love to talk about the books, but all the discussion boards I've found for them have ppl that take things a *little* too seriously.

I don't think anyone has suggested my favorite, Maeve Binchy. Her stories are all (I think) set in Ireland.

To all of you who recommended Susan Elizabeth Phillips-Thanks! I got "It had to be you" from the library and can't put it down (except when I DIS). Great author!
