Do you put ID bracelet on child at parks?

we used the dog tags that you can get at most pet stores and then looped them though the kids shoe laces. We put their first and last name and then both our cell phone numbers on them. If they were carrying their backpacks we could also attach them to zippers or even belt loops. They were also relatively cheap (I think $5-$10)

last year the kids carried their room keys in their lanyards most of the time and the rest of the time we felt they were old enough (9 and 7) to provide plenty of info to anyone if they got lost (name and resort we were staying at)

My sister in laws father started a company that sells personalized stamps called I.C.E. In case of emergency. The stamp is put on the childs arm, or somewhere visible, and has the cell phone numbers and names of parents are just mom and dad, so it is more confidential. She used it on her 2 kids at DL when we went last year. It seems like a really good idea. here is a link. http://www.icestamp.com/

We have used Who's Shoe Child ID on each of our last trips. My son wore them on his sneakers and my daughter wore it on her sandals without a problem. We just left them on their shoes and didn't have to remember to put something on them each day. I have kept them on my son's shoes since we have returned.

We used the Vital ID bracelet shown on the link below. DS4 wore it in the parks, it had our cell phone numbers and info about his allergy to eggs. We also coached him to identify park personnel if we became separated.

Another tip.... DW and I changed our screen savers/wallpaper on our cell phones to show a message... If found call XXX-XXX-XXXX (and put my cell phone # on hers, and hers on mine)... so if either phone got lost, we might get a call. ..... and it was lost on Toy Story Mania, fell out of pocket in the car... but we realized it as soon as we got off the ride, and just waited for the cars to go all the way around and the new rider found it.

I had grand intentions of getting something for my 3.5 yo (he's a runner) but never did. I ended up just putting my # in sharpie across his belly. He was old enough to know where it was and that if he got lost to show a CM the number (I knew they wouldn't be able to search him). I quizzed him every morning about what he was to do if he got lost. Thankfully, it was never needed. :)

I made my own necklace for my son. It said: Please call my parents at ******(insert cell #). I bought the supplies at Hobby Lobby and I probably spent $5 at most.

I used wristbands for all three of my kids. Ages 11, 9 and 4. I got mine here:

I just put on mine: Mom's cell-XXX-XXX-XXXX

I knew that my 4 yo wouldn't keep it on so I came up with an idea. I went to the concierge desk and asked them to "give" it to her and tell her that it was "Mickey's rule" that she wear that bracelet to help keep her safe. If Mickey said to do it, I knew she would!!! They were more than happy to help out and then....this guy walked in!!

Those Mickey hands were great! He told her that he was a personal friend of Mickeys and he wanted to give her that bracelet and she had to keep it on. She wore it all week and only took it off at night. The first time she took it off at night, she looked at me and said "don't tell Mickey"! I told her that it was okay to take it off while she slept but when she woke up to put it back on. She never even had to be reminded!!!
You can order different sizes on here as well. My 4 yo didn't have a problem keeping her child sized one on.

I have used the shoe tags and wristbands in the past with my cell number on them. My little one prefers the wristband.

I like the idea of the dog tags...but I went the cheaper route and wrote our cell numbers in their shoes each day with a Sharpie (they often wore Crocs and it wore off after a few days). At an early age the kids knew that if they got lost they could show a CM the phone number and they would call us. We also told them many times to NOT wander around looking for us, but to freeze where they were and to look around for a CM...a person with a nametag and uniform. I also take a picture of them each morning before heading out on my digital camera so that in the heat of the moment I would remember what they were wearing...and could quickly show anyone around.

I had a family (business) cards. That I use to put in my kids pockets when they were little. It has our names, my cell phone number and on the back I would write my DH cell number. Every moning they would put the card in their pocket, before we left for the parks.

They are older now and ALL carry their own cellphones.

We used these at age 4 and up on wrist. (I've heard some people use them on ankle)

Fairly inexpensive even with shipping.

We put Mom & Dad's cell phone number on them.

We used these as well and since they were too large for the boys wrists we put them on their ankles and since they were a bright red they were quite noticeable so I knew IF they got lost and someone was looking for some sort of ID they would see them. Plus both boys knew what they were for since every day when we put them and took them off we told them what they were for.

I like the idea of the bracelets.. I would probably have to put around my DD2 ankle. She would take off her wrist. What all did you put on the bracelet. Just your number ? thanks

We got the engraved dog tags at the from of Walmart ($5).

My kids are pin-traders, so we just attached them to their lanyards.

we used the Who's Shoe last trip - I put the tag on his belt loop instead of his shoe though.

i also tried to take a picture of him every morning when we left the resort so i would have exactly what he was wearing in case of emergency!

i like the ICE Stamp idea someone posted above!

We used the Safteytats. They were great. We got the kind with both of our cell numbers on it and just put it on her wrist. We had to reapply midweek, but they held up really well.
