Do you plan your QS?

I usually have an idea of how we'll flow through a park and then have a few Q's that would work in a couple areas. Then when it is close to time to eat we work our way toward the closest one/what sounds the best.

I already knowall the QS places where we want to eat, and all the snacks we want tohave (dole whip,MainSt Bakery)I right them all done and then it's being in the right place at the right time.....we usually visit parks more than once :thumbsup2

We have a list of places we like to go to each trip for our QS meals, but we don't have a schedule or whatever to follow for those meals. It is kind of a "play it by ear" thing.

The one thing we do attempt to do, however, is try at least one new QS location each trip.

I plan everything! However, I may change my plans on the day of, if we are in a different area of the park. I always review the menus before we go. Some have a lot more variety than others. And you should definitely look ahead of time if anyone has food allergies! Good Luck!:surfweb:

Yes, I plan everything. I like to try to space out how often we are eating items like pizza or burgers, so I try to plan ahead of time. If someone is really in the mood for something though, we will change our plans but for the most part it is just easier for us.

I don't plan cs restaurants because I already know from experience which ones I like. When I'm in those parks they are the only ones I'll go to.

MK: Cosmic Rays & Columbia Harbour House
Epcot: Sunshine Seasons, Tangierine Cafe and Cantina de San Angel
AK: Flame Tree Barbecue, Yak & Yeti cs
DHS: :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao: Now that is funny. I'll pass. I usually eat a nice hearty breakfast and skip lunch and just eat a snack. If desperate I'll take the boat to Epcot or eat a sandwich from Starring Rolls

I have a mental list of places I haven't tried and would like to, and places I like to avoid. For example, we had a bad experience at ABC Commissary, but we've never been to Starring Roles and we like what we see on the menu, so we'll probably try to make the effort to go there. It's a tentative thing...but I'll admit, there's still a lot of planning that goes into it.

I try to come up with about 2 choices each day or we'll be wandering around going,"what do you want to eat? I don't know, what do you want to eat?"

Yes, I absolutely planned our QS meals on our last visit. I wanted variety in our meals, and I got caught up in the fun of planning, looking at the menus, etc. Also my two darling children are horrible decision makers (so long!) so when we were in line at an attraction just before going to lunch, I pulled out the menu of where we were going and we all started thinking about what we would order. Then DH could take the kids to the table and I could go order in peace! Or we would all go get in line, but I wouldn't have to pressure the kiddos into making a quick decision! ha ha

This exactly. So I have an idea where we might want to eat. I don't like eating the same things over and over again either.

I have my preferences for QS, so yeah, I do tend to plan that out at least a little bit. Like others, I don't want to be eating hot dogs and cheeseburgers all the time.

Absolutely. After 15 trips, I know where I want to eat. Doesn't mean that's where I'll end up. Last Jan I told my buddy for a week how much I love Cosmic Ray's, but our last MK day I got hungry in Frontierland, so we ended up eating at Pecos, a perfectly good place, just not my top choice.

This is me. I go to WDW several times a year. I am not a fan of counter service usually, but do have a few favorites. I don't care for hamburgers and hot dogs and seldom eat sandwiches. I will occasiionally go to my favorites though:

Epcot: it will be at Sunshine Seasons, the Norwegian or French bakery, or Tangeriene Cafe.

AK: I usually eat TS at Yak & Yeti, but if doing CS the only place I'd eat it is Flame Tree BBQ (used to like Tusker House back when it was a CS:sad1:).

MK: I'll eat at Columbia Harbour House or occasionally at Cosmic Rays for the chicken & ribs.

No way am I eating CS at DS. Yuck!!

At the resorts, I enjoy Cap'n Cooks, Boardwalk Bakery, or Pepper Market.

At DTD I like WGP Express or maybe Earl of Sandwich if I'm in the mood and the line isn't outrageous.

Don't get me wrong I have tried just about all the other CS restaurants at WDW. I'd just rather do TS, although I am looking forward to at least trying the new CS restaurants at Mexico and Italy in Epcot.. I've been going to WDW long enough to pretty much know where I'm going to eat each day, especially since there is not that many CS restaurants that I like. I haven't eaten a hamburger down there in years and don't intend to.

We, like most pp, know what park we're going to, but don't have our CS set in stone.

I make a short list of CS:teacher:, then depending on where in the parks we are, what kind of food everyones in the mood for, what places we haven't tried yet, what places we know we like, that is where we'll eat.

We usually try to switch it up and try new places so I could say I tried everything!:goodvibes

No planning. We make one ADR for a dinner every other day and we wing everything else. My family protested after too many structured vacations.

I take a look at the park maps before I go to get an idea of where the QS locations are, but I don't plan ahead...that's why we decided to not take the DDP (or now it's free dining) - I didn't like the idea of feeling I HAD to be somewhere specific to eat - when I get hungry, I have an idea of what's in the general area (i.e. Frontierland)...
Granted, I also have an idea of what's on the menu - don't want to end up somewhere that all I can get is a turkey leg that tastes like ham :lmao:

I've been so many times that I know what we like and what we don't . I just wing it, when we are hungry we stop in where we are. Not a big deal. We also know what we dont' like so we just don't go there. If a new place opens i check the menu on line to see if there are things we would get, if not we just skip it.

We have an "idea" of where we would like to eat if we are close. I also keep a list of things we like, places we don't like, and places we'd like to try. When we start getting hungry, we'll either figure out what's closest, or we'll travel to one we know we want to eat. Example - if we're in AK, we'll head to Yak & Yeti CS around lunchtime because we know that's a must-do in that park (for us). If we're in DHS, we normally leave that park for lunch, so we'll start thinking about what we want and where we can get it (we Park Hop, so we've totally gone to a different park just for a CS lunch). We're also going to try something new this trip - We've been underwhelmed with CS at MK, so we're going to take the monorail to one of the resorts and eat in their food court (I'm leaning towards Captain Cooks...that dole whip machine is calling my name!)

I have a list of places I'd like to try or return to, but I don't have it planned out where I'm going to eat each day.
