Do You Park Hop

I too am debating park hopping… girls will be 3 and 5. We will be napping mid-day and staying at BLT so walking distance to MK….. want them but keep thinking that extra $200 could be used towards Halloween party!:confused3

No
Main reasons- We enjoy totally emersing ourselves in the park we are in, rope drop to close, most times. #2- I don't want to spend the time on transportation traveling from one park to another. #3- bc of these, the added expense in not worth it for our family.

I like hopping, the rest of the family doesn't.

I like to hit one park in the morning, leave mid-afternoon for a break (nap, pool, etc), then return to a different park in the evening. I did this when I went solo last year and liked the flexibility and the chance to rejuvenate for the evening. One evening I went to MK but found it too crowded, so just went over to Epcot as I'd been to HS that morning.

The rest of the family likes to spend all day at one park, and thinks taking a break is a waste of time, as is travel time to another park. The exception is AK, which we've usually finished by mid-afternoon so a hopper allows to visit another park afterward.

I never hop. I like being immersed in each park's theming for the entire day. I don't travel with kids so don't have the need to return to the resort to rest in the middle of the day, and I think I would feel rushed to get places if I was hopping.

On my most recent trip I did wish I had a hopper on my first day, since I was done with AK by 2pm and had nothing to do after that. I ended up having a nap back at the resort and then just roamed around DTD and saw a movie. Pretty boring. But my remaining days were 100% spent at the parks and I definitely didn't need to hop.

Now I have an AP so I can hop whenever, but we'll see if I actually use it for that purpose.

Yes, I park hop. I opt to tend to spend my money on things that offer me the most flexibility (what resort, no dining plan, park hop, etc.)

We always hop. We have small children (2 and 5) and we like the transportation time between parks because it not only gives us a break from walking, but also a break from all the over-stimulation in the parks. You can get this same break by finding a quite spot at the park and sitting for an hour but sometimes a park is just too busy to do that. We prefer to have the flexibility that park hoppers provide and find that we use them almost everyday. I love going to a park all day and then heading to dinner or back to the hotel for a break and back out to MK or Epcot for evening entertainment.

Last year we bought hoppers and hopped 1x to watch Fantasmic (it was the only way it worked out). If you have plenty of days I think its better to just do something else with that $$.

We park hop more than we don't. On a 7 night trip, 6 park days we probably hop at least 4 days. I don't like feeling restricted to one park. Plus, as mentioned...Dining. If you want to eat at EPCOT 4 times, you don't have to be in the park all day all 4 days...

I always got hopping tickets because I wanted the flexability. However in practice, I never wanted to lose the time going between parks (I always figured it would be about an hour by the time we walk up front, get a bus and get in the new park). So I never, ever used them EXCEPT with AK where I would go to AK in the morning, then bail to somewhere else with fireworks for the evening.

This year I decided it wasn't worth the money. Had nothing to do with FP+. I just figured I was wasting money.

We like to allocate one day per trip for each of the parks to do a full open to close day there. Aside from that, we hop every other day, sometimes visiting 3 parks in a day, depending what our plans are and what the hours are.

We hop every trip. I like the freedom of it all. Sometimes I'm just not into a park and I'd rather be in another or it is really busy in one. Also, We like to have a sit down dinner in Epcot usually and it is nice to be able to hop there for dinner.
