do you need cash in the parks?

I've read that you only need cash for the food carts, but can you use a credit card everywhere else? Can you also use a credit card at the Carts?

Also, please, what are "Disney dollars"? Thanks!

I've used my credit card at food carts, not sure about the ice cream cart but all others I have. Disney dollars you can buy and use as cash in disney stores, food carts, etc.

Disney Dollars are just like cash that can be used at any Disney park or Disney Store. They can be used to pay for lodging within Disney resorts, food, etc. Disney Dollars can be purchased at the parks or in advance at any Disney Store. The carts do not currently accept credit cards. I would take at least some cash with you even if you do not plan to purchase from the carts just in case. Hope this helps.

You will need some cash on hand for buying drinks or ice cream from some of the carts, or if you wish to purchase something from one of the "strolling" vendors. Disney dollars will also work. We put most purchases on our room charge, but always seem to need a little cash for odds and ends.
