Do you need a ticket to MK to do wishes or just pay in advance for Wishes?

We do not have Park Hopper tickets, I wanted to do Epcot our first day (we'll be arriving a little later) then do Wishes Dessert party that evening. Is this possible without park hopper tickets?

No, not possible. To enter a second park in the same day you need a PH ticket.

The wishes dessert party requires valid admission to MK, so no, you can't do that.

And you cannot use 2 days on a multi day ticket to "park hop" So you will either need to add park hopping to your pass, or do your wishes party a different day.
