"Do You Mind?" - Disney Adventures with Teens August Trip Report

You should write for All My Children :lmao:

SOMEONE should write for AMC!!!!:worship: PLEASE!:worship:

It's one of the two Soaps that I TIVO, but I get so fed up with some of the stupidity on AMC that I fast forward through most of it.;)

Glad they brought back the "real" Greenlee.....love Rebecca B.:lovestruc and I'm ecstatic that Jesse and Angie are back. Wow! Can they heat up the screen, or what?:cloud9:

And you know I have a back up, so if I were to ever disappear, Mom would fill in.

You got THAT right, dear daughter. I'm here today because I know that you are busy with your office party at your house tonight and Katie's big day tomorrow. Enjoy, Relax, Never Fear.....Mother's Here!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Just wanted to say, you got me teary eyed with your very sentimental gift to Katie... It's a really beautiful thing, to have thought about it then (13 years ago) and to have hold on to it until now, never forgetting about it, not changing your mind... :goodvibes

I don't think being RAISED ;) surrounded with such caring love can spoil you in the bad way. It makes you learn great values, IMHO.

you grow corn, you rear dogs, you raise children! ha! :lmao:

we don't have Sonic around here.

Scottny,
I am so sorry you don't have Sonic. :guilty: They have a Happy Hour with 1/2 price drinks. :cool1: My pick is the Cherry Coke on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and Cherry Limeade on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. It's a toss-up on Sundays.:rotfl2:

Another History Lesson here: Sonic reminds me of my teens because I grew up in the "best of times". I was a teen in The Rock 'n Rollin' 50's.:cheer2: We didn't have McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King's, etc. until my last year in high school. But we did have several "drive ins" (not the theater type) where we would go every Friday and Saturday night and "buzz" (not the drug type) the place. If anyone wants descriptions of the above activities, rent American Graffiti and see how we oldtimers had fun.:yay: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Nope, non on LI either. I went to Sonic when I visited my family in florida, but none near here...I think the closest is south jersey or PA

Just a quick post amidst the chaos. The girls left 14 minutes ago in this:

Check out our little Mouseketeer we're bringing with us to WDW. Isn't she just adorable?

And, here's Katie stringing the ring on her chain to wear tonight. I took the pic to show her hair, which was done by Franchiska this afternoon.

I have such great memories of running from the M building at Gtown , then through the B building, and oh yeah, through the B annex toward our car..... which, for some reason.... I remember we always forgot where we parked that day....... and once we got to the car, we piled in it like clowns at a circus.:clown: I remember piling tons of people in, the more the merrier. And the memories of driving through McD's--- DAILY. Eating french fries every day on the way home. And that trip home was CRAZY. We drove down that very narrow, winding road. All the way to cordova, with tons of teenage bodies in the car, tons of hot french fries, and maybe a text book or two.

I'm saddened that the kids don't get to travel with each other. That was the thrill of it. We would all chat about what we were going to do, with who, and when. We made plans and the gossip... oh yeah... that is when the gossip happened.

Jo

Well, I guess what Mama didn't know, didn't hurt her (me). It's a wonder y'all didn't have more accidents than you did. That is why God gives teenagers to "the young". I'm not sure I'd make it now w/o blood pressure meds. It's strange how the older you get, the more frightening things I hear from you girls about things you did "behind my back" when you were younger. Too late for me to dish out the punishment now.:rotfl2:

GTown road was so scary! Do you remember leaving for school at 6:40 to get to school by 7:20?!

Gtown road is quite different now, but still scary. Just in a different way.

When y'all were growing up and driving to school and church on it, it was a long, lonesome windy two lane country road with no stops and no gas stations, restaurants, or other businesses. Now it is a six-lane parkway with about 15 stop lights and every establishment possible. There are numerous churches, gas stations, convenience stores, strip malls, and auto dealerships. Don't forget the Wolfchase Galleria, too. There is at least one wreck a day on it. Last Wednesday, what usually takes me 25 minutes took me an hour because an SUV flipped in the middle of GTown Parkway. Welcome, to the big city as it spreads to the country.

me too. she is 16 and has an Iphone and I am 38 and do not. :rotfl2:

Scottny, I know how you feel. I think I'm the oldest person in the USA without an IPod, let alone an Iphone!!! I finally figured out a couple of months ago why I need an IPod. I still buy CD's to listen to only two or three of the songs unless they are Christmas CD's.

I love the pink limo!!!

Your daughter looks beautiful. I hope she has a fun night!

How have you been since tax season ended?

The pictures are great! I love the view from your house. And Katie's hair is beautiful! I must tell you that the picture of her stringing the ring was like de ja vue foe me. She looks so much like you did as a teen. Caitlin is so cute and so special and I am so looking forward to spending time with Katie and Caitlin in WDW!

Are those twins? :rotfl:

They look so cute! :cutie:
The dress fits perfectly with the limo, and the dresses fit perfectly together!

And I agree, the mouseketeer is precious indeed! I'm sure the girls will have so much fun on the trip! :goodvibes
By the way, I hope they're now having a wonderful time right now! :thumbsup2

The hair was perfect, and I love it that you let us see the "putting the ring on the chain" moment! It's a really special and intimate thing and tell Katie she's great to let us enjoy some of her special moments! :flower3:
