Do you make a copy of your tickets?

Just received my 2005 10 day park hopper/no expires that I was able to get from Undercovertourist at the old pre increase prices { I purchased on 1/2}. Thanks Pat!!!! I've read here before that if you make a copy of the ticket backs {in case you lose your ticket} a copy of the backs will help Disney replace them. My question is my tickets do not have serial numbers or anything that I would consider defining. They just say - 10 day park hopper no expiration ages {10+} along with the date I purchased then and a couple of 2 or 3 digit numbers. Does that really help. Wondering if that's about the same info that others have on their passes. ::yes::

We have annual passes, and have bought a variety of other passes for other people who are traveling with us. They have all had a scan bar on the back. I personally do make a copy of all tickets, leaving them in the hotel just in case someone drops one. Luckily I have never needed to use a copy, but it would ruin the vacation should something happen.

I always make two copies of our tickets and leave one copy double locked in the car.(glove compartment and doors) and the other at the hotel. Don't want lost tickets to mess up my day.

I used to copy all my tickets and I'm so glad I did. I needed the copy one day when I lost my ticket. I don't do it so much now that I have an AP. But if/when I go back to regular tickets you can bet your bippy that I will again copy them.

Yes, copy the tickets! Ticketmania did it for us, and DH lost 2 of the kids 10 park-hoppers. In 20 minutes, we had replacements, and the CM said "Who ever told you to copy these, it was the best advice ever". I'm not sure they can do anything for you if you don't have the copy and it's not an AP.

Ditto on the copy :rotfl: . My DN lost her ticket during our Christmas trip; Ticketmania had sent copies of the backs of tix we purchased and Guest Services was able to issue her a new ticket! According to the CM who helped us, it could not have been done without the copy. Thanks Ticketmania!! :earsboy:

We always copy them...it just takes a minute, and I have heard it can be a lifesaver!

Definitely copy! Disney can scan the copy, cancel the old ticket and issue you a new one if needed.

I just got a 10 day non-expiring Hopper and I made 3 copies! One is in my desk files at home, another is in my suitcase (and I don't leave for 118 days!)
and I gave another copy to my mom.

Better safe :flower3: than sorry  !

I already have the #'s in notes and a Pic.stored on my phone for our PAPs' vouchers and will do the same when I get the passes.

Although I've never needed it, I always copy all tickets in our party. You never know, it can happen to anyone at anytime and having a copy asures you of getting another ticket.

we did the last time we went down and this time I purchased tickets from ticket mania and they sent along copies whick was very nice of them.

I've had to use my copied tix to get a replacement for a hopper that the Splash Mtn. FP machine ate. I always make 2 copies.

What you see at the bottom of the back of the ticket are the actual numbers that allow Disney to locate your ticket in the database. That entire line of letters and number contains where the ticket was issued, the printer location that printed it, the date it was printed and the transaction number from that location for that day. That information is what allows your ticket to be easily replaced.

Even though I haven't had a need to use them, I always make a copy of my tickets.

I always make a copy of our tickets that i keep in the room and take a digital picture of the front and back of our tickets that stays on my camera while we are in the parks

DEFINATELY DEFINATELY DEFINATELY copy ANY tickets that you do not purchase directly from WDW. When you purchase tickets from any outside vendor, they do absolutely nothing to link your tickets to yourself in the WDW computers, because they can't!

When you purchase tickets from WDW, you'll get a receipt that links directly to the tickets, and when you lose them, they can re-print the lost tickets just by showing them what tickets you didn't lose out of the whole group ( all tix need to be present, minus the lost one obviously). They can even re-print a lost ticket if you have all the tickets from the same transaction just by scanning one of the tickets, since the tickets are also linked to eachother when you purchase them in the same transaction.

When you purchase the tickets from an outside vendor, they basically buy hundreds or even thousands of WDW tickets at a time. If Guest Relations tries any of the above ticket recovery efforts, the lost ticket could be one of several thousand in the transaction, and it's VERY hard to match up and find a lost ticket - near impossible. If you have a photocopy, then they can find the missing one!!

Copy them. I take one copy with me and leave another with a co-worker who could fax it to Disney if necessary.

Thanks for all the reply's. I've been 8 times before to WDW and never, ever made copies. But 3 years ago on Kali River Rapids in AK, we got so wet I had to dry out my wallet in the sun for a few minutes because it was like we went swimming. Of course our tickets were in the wallet - last day though of a 4 day trip so it didn't matter. Now that we are buying 10 day no expire, using 5 days in May and the rest in a couple of years - I just wanted to be sure

I had posted a similar question after buying tix from Ticketmania. Someone suggested also scanning the tickets, saving as a jpeg and e-mailing the file to yourself. File could then be pulled up on-site at a computer.
