do you like your name?

I like mine alright I guess. Not to common, not to different. Some people insist on calling me Laura, but it's Laurie.

I didn't really like my name, Teresa, when I was growing up. But I definitely like it now. :thumbsup2

I like mine now. I didn't like it as a kid, didn't hate it, but didn't really like it. Now I do, it's Noelle. I used to always get the question of "Were you born on Christmas?" Still do. It also used to get mispronounced a lot (Nole like the end of Seminole, instead of No-elle.) But I now appreiciate that it is not one you hear a lot but it is not weird. I've met a total of 3 other Noelle's in my life.

No, I don't like my name. People will call me Babs or Barbie. I really dislike being called either one. I'm okay with Barb.

Definitely a 1950's name. You hardly ever hear of a child named Barbara anymore.

I HATED my name growing up. It's Sadie Elouise (Why would a parent saddle a little kid with that?) Sadie after my dad's mom and Elouise after my mom's mom. The sad thing is that my mom misspelled her own mother's name! It's supposed to be Eloise.

Now that I'm an adult, I've actually grown to like my name. It's unique to say the least. The surprising thing is that Sadie is making a comeback. There are three of them at my daughter's school and it's a pretty small school. Go figure. :confused3

My name is Dana and I've always like my name even though I've met a few men with the same name! :goodvibes

I like mine. I don't meet too many Wendy's. I think everyone should just start calling me WendyDarling instead. :rotfl:

Forgot to add - as if Sadie wasn't bad enough, I was called Ellie by my friends and family until I was old enough to threaten bodily harm. :teeth: I have finally learned to embrace the Ellie in me though (hence my screen name). ;)

Yes I like my name. It's not strange, not gender-ambiguous, and not overused.

Funny story -- I got a work e-mail and there was someone listed on there whose first name was Cinderella. Her last name made it sound even funnier. I mean who does that? Belle, fine. Jasmine, great. Aurora, wonderful. Cinderella :rotfl:

I hated my name as a kid. But I can say that I never had another Staci/y/ey/ie in class with me in grade school or middle school. Though, in High school there were a couple of others. Very few that I have come across spell it with just an I. Though just having an I has cause the problem of not finding things with my name on it spelled correctly.

You know the first time I went to WDW all I wanted was a key chain with my name on it and they do not have it with just an I. They have at least two of the other version if not all three(I don't remember), but no Staci. Believe me I check every store we can across. :guilty:

Nope, but couldn't bring myself to change it because I'm named after my dad, Carl. Apparently Carla is more common among AA. Many people have told me over the years that they were quite surprised when I (blonde/blue eyed) gave my name.

I love my name, always have. The only thing I don't like are the nicknames. Very few people with the name Bernadette.

I do not like my name at all. Actually, I cannot think of a time that I DID like it....nope....just took a few secs to ponder and NO, never liked it and never will. KAREN. My middle name is Anne and my parents have always called me Karen Anne and mostly just Annie!!! WHY do parents do that...My son is Michael Patrick and we call him Paddy and Patrick ALL THE TIME. So we are as bad as my parents calling the child by their MIDDLE name...why didn't we just switch that around to BEGIN WITH :confused3 !!!!!!!!!

Karen is not a name you hear at all anymore and if you do the person is closer to my age in their 40's and 50's!!! It is definitely being phased out!

My name is Meghan, and I like it--just don't call me Meg! When I was a kid I didn't like it and wanted to be called by my middle name, Eileen, but it didn't catch on. Mostly I didn't like it because my name is pronounced like May-ghan, and people always called me Megg-un. Only my brothers and my DH are allowed to call me Meggie. To my mom, I'm always Magpie!

ETA: My name was not popular when I was born. I've only ever seen about three Meghan/Megan/Meagans my age...they are always at least 10 years younger than me.

I like my name Lisabeth Gabrielle but hate the way people pronounce Lisabeth as Lisa Beth. Its one word and pronounced Lis/bet

I didn't like my name growing up. It's just Kim. Not Kimberly, which I like. It could have been worse though. If I was a boy I was going to be Javier.

I actually tried to change it a couple of times in grade school. I started writing my name as Lisa. My middle name is Leisel(didn't like that either)so I just shortened it to Lisa. That didn't catch on so I renamed myself Jamie. I was a huuuge fan of the Bionic Woman and her name was Jamie Summers. I even signed my name like that on my school papers. My mother finally had to tell me to knock it off.

I like my first and middle name: Heather Marie

one problem though-almost every other person I've met named Heather has the same middle name....Heather Marie is a popular combination....I've only met one Heather that wasn't a Heather Marie but a Heather LeAnn and she lives across the street from me :rotfl:

My middle name is Leisel

Did your parents name you after "The Sound Of Music"...I remember one of the girls in the Captain's family was Leisel. :goodvibes

My name is Jennifer. I really like my name except for its popularity in my age group. I asked my mom why she picked such a popular name. She said that it was such a pretty and different name at the time (it hit big later that year).

And my parents loved the song by Donavan "Jennifer, Juniper" and would always sing it to me.
