Do you like the King bed in the 1 BR?

  • I love it - all that room!

  • 2 beds would work better for us

Not that my opinion will change room layouts :teeth: ... but I really wish there were 2 Queens in the 1 BR instead of the 1 King. We have a family of 4, and I would like to be able to sleep in the bedroom, and live in the living room. Our DSs are very young, and go to bed early. The baby will of course be in the pack-n-play, but we are going to need to bring an aerobed for the 2 yr because there is no bed for him to sleep on, unless we all go to bed at 8:30. Or DH and I sleep on the pull out sofa - and that's a waste of a perfectly good bed!

I don't want to sleep in the same room with my kids. I see no point in having a master bedroom with two beds. The kids can have the living room, and baby can sleep in the crib. Most kids let you move them once they have fallen asleep. It would be much better to have a studio with two real beds than a master bedroom with two.

ITA, but I like the 1 bed and sofa in the studios, too, LOL!

Kids don't stay little, and I predict that in a few years, the OP won't want to sleep in the same room as the kids, either. :)

For that matter, eventually the kids won't want to sleep in the same room as their parents, either - if they have any say in the matter, of course. :teeth:

Best wishes -

I prefer the king bed, and I agree it wouldn't be a MASTER bedroom with two beds.

I'm new, so I haven't stayed in any of the rooms yet. One of the draws of the DVC for me was the King size bed rather than two beds. My husband and I don't need two beds and that's what the resort rooms have.

We love the king size bed in the master bedroom & do not wish to see it changed!

I would like the master bedrooms either way. My husband and I do not have a king bed at home, so while it is fun to have one on vacation, we certainly can manage on a queen. However, when our kids were younger, it would have been nice to have the option of 2 beds. The five of us spent a lot of our vacations in one hotel room when the kids were little! I am one of those people who bought in to the DVC too late for my older kids! I hope to use it a lot in the future for my grown up kids!

One of the things that makes DVC so appealing to me is that you KNOW what kind of bed you'll be sleeping in! When staying at deluxe resorts, we always are left wondering - will we get the king bed we requested, or be stuck with dual beds? We only want 1 bed in our room, thank you very much! :goodvibes

The king bed is one of the reasons we love the one bedroom. It is just like at home. We wouldn't want to see it change.

I am on vacation and I like to be able to let the kids have fun and watch their things and we can watch ours. And if we are going with another couple I don't want to be sharing a room with them.

King bed all the way.

 JIMBO!!!!!!

I like the king bed. I don't want queen beds in the master bedroom.

I also love the king in the master. But dh says he'd prefer one queen ... he likes to cuddle and hates having to "chase" me across the bed, LOL!! ;)

The only reason I would want the two beds is to be able to sleep 6 instead of 4. I would love to see a regular 1BR with the King and then an Extended 1 BR with the two queens that sleeps 6.... charge a few more points for it.

I vote for the king - it would seem kind of creepy for Mom and Dad to be using the jacuzzi while Junior and/or Sis were in the Master Bedroom :crazy2:

That king bed is for the wife and I. I sure don't want to share my bedroom with the kids. That defeats the purpose of having a one bedroom. If I wanted to share a room with the kids, I would just book a studio.
