Do you like Starbucks coffee?

I know many, many people do. The company has done very well. I don't like their coffee at all. It tastes so burnt! Three out of three times. Three different places. Burnt. So bad. I gave them a try. Three times you are out. I'm sure they don't miss me.

The store my father-in-law owns carries locally roasted coffee. I remember the roaster calling Starbucks "Charbucks" because they tend to burn their coffee.

I personally have never gotten a bad cup from them, but I don't often buy that high-dollar stuff.

I love Starbucks, esp. Pumpkin Spice Latte, White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha Latte, Egg Nog Chai, and Java Chip Frapp. I like the shaken iced green tea too. Not a fan of Pike's Peak, but the Kenya and Christmas Blend are very nice.

Speaking of Community Coffee, drinking some right now- Louisiana Blend, delish!

I enjoy Starbucks coffee but I especially like their hot tea.
Their Earl Grey with skimmed milk is excellent.

I like Starbucks mainly for the fact that they're the only place around that has soy milk. I HATE cows milk and can taste it even in a strong cup of coffee. I mostly get soy lattes at Starbucks. I've had 1 bad one that tasted burnt. I made the mistake of not tasting it before I left but when I said something the next time I stopped in they gave me another on the house.

I love coffee and I hate Starbucks!
I find their coffee to taste like bitter dirt. I much prefer McDonalds or Peets coffee for a drive thru type option.

I hate Starbucks coffee. Way too strong & bitter. Unfortunately, it seems like every place now wants to be like SB. McDonald's now has a strong blend and now my local Sheetz has a BOLD blend. Ugh! I like a nice, mild coffee like Dunkin Donuts.

I have only gotten the plain old regular coffee. Nothing special. I don't like strong coffee. I had to pour out at least half of the coffee to make room for improvements. Even with that, I could still taste how burnt it was. But it did mute it some.

Like Starbucks? It's like crack to me. I'm frugle and practical in virtually all areas of my life, but I stop at Starbucks almost every day. I get the overpriced lattes most of the time, too. At least I get a free one every 15 with my gold card. I'm not a fan of weak coffee, though.

I do like Starbucks but I don't drink it every day. I get very good quality coffee from Trader Joe's for less money. But I do enjoy it as a treat now and again when I'm out.

Now Caribu is just awful. The few times I've had it, it has this weird chemical taste to it. I wouldn't drink it for free!

This. Except I live 55 miles from the closest Starbucks and yes I cleared my trip odometer and drove there one day to see how far it was Of course this was before gas was $3.50

No. Even with mounds of sugar and cream, it is just way too bitter for me. Coffee is just a convenient transfer medium for sugar and caffiene. I don't actually like the way it tastes

Starbucks tastes horrible. The worst coffee i have ever had in my life. Even if i put in 10 litres of cream, it still tastes bad. It tastes burnt, and just way too strong and bitter. Awful.

I love Second Cup (im canadian) and Timothy's. They make great coffee!

I also dont mind dunkin donuts and mcdonalds coffee too! Anything but starbucks.

I have to agree with you!
This IS just the flavor of their coffee.
It is beyond me how a company has been so successful with this.
Are there not any other decent coffee shops around???

I like their specialty drinks but I don't drink coffee. No one in my circle thinks their no-frills coffee is very good.

It isn't my favorite but some of their blends are ok. I'll drink it but they aren't my first choice, or second, or third...

Nope, I agree with you OP: it tastes bitter and burnt. We call it "Charbucks." Nasty. I will drink it if I really think I NEED a mocha and it is the only place nearby. Fortunately that almost never happens in Western Washington. It has been known to happen to me on a few road trips, though.

Bleh. Burnt. Tastes of nothing but burnt. Undertones of charcoal. Notes of carbon. Burnt. They do burn the crap out of it on purpose; I've heard different reasons attached - from burning it to that extent ensures parity of the roast across all stores to it being a means to buy cheaper beans - hard to tell they're of lesser quality if they're just roast to carbon.

Starbucks is like McDonalds. Same product at every location so they are a good measure to compare other companys with.

They are in the same boat as Krispy Kreme, their product isn't good enough to justify the price they are asking, which is why both have strugged so much in the recent economy downturn.
