I love it.. Both regular and flavored.. I just made a very large bowl of it for my evening "snack".. ;)

I'm finally "over" the Entenmann's Devils Food Cake with Marshmallow Icing - at least for now.. LOL..:rotfl:

I love oatmeal, I have it almost every morning...often with a strawberry toaster pastry.....:lovestruc

Karen :)

I love oatmeal. I prefer it on the creamier side, vs. thick. I also make mine with all milk and no water.

I like oatmeal cookies! not so much the oatmeal, though

I can't get past the texture

Okay - don't get sick on me here, LOL - but I like mine thick and cold! I'm waiting for it to get cold now before I eat it.. Then I'll put a smidge of milk in it and sprinkle some sugar on top.. Yum!! :thumbsup2

Did you know that if you have trouble getting to sleep at night a couple of oatmeal cookies just before bed will make you drowsy enough to get to sleep?
Can't remember where I read it, but I was suffering from insomnia at the time and it worked like a charm for me..:thumbsup2 Told several other people and it worked well for them too..:goodvibes

I like mine with brown sugar also, and so thick that the spoon can stand up in it...yummmmmmmm :goodvibes

I freaking love oatmeal, and I make it with milk, but I want mine thick!!

When I'm dieting I make the long cooking kind, with Splenda, lots of apples & cinnamon and I can almost fool myself into thinking I'm eating apple pie.

Right with you C.Ann, I love it for breakfast or snack...sorry, it has to be creamy and hot :goodvibes! If we're talking homemade I prefer brownn sugar and cinnamon. If we're talking pkg., it's peach all the way! DH has eaten it it every morn. for years! He's got his own little recipe going with about 7 kinds of dried fruit (rather than sugar), nuts, and soy milk.

C.Ann, speaking of Devils Food cake.... tonight I found some Devil Food cake shells when grocery shopping! I only remember seeing them in yellow cake or angel food. They had Bryers IC on sale, which I thought it would be yummy in the shells, of course then I had to get chocolate syrup and whipped cream!! Sinful, I tell you!! :rotfl2:

Just bought 10 pounds at Costco.

Should have got a buggy, but decided to carry it out. The line-ups were really slow so here I was lugging this 10 pound box.

DS16 is going back to a weight-training regime and eats lots of oatmeal.

I think it's all right.

i have oatmeal most every morning. my brother lost 30 lbs on the michael thurmond plan and oatmeal is one of the breakfast choices. before starting this i would skip breakfast. now i really enjoy it with apples in it in the morning, and plus i'm losing weight!

Oh my! Aren't you being naughty tonight? LOL :rotfl:

What's a little "sinful" treat now and then - right? You know what they say - "Life is uncertain - eat dessert first.." ;)

That's interesting - losing weight from oatmeal? That's something I definitely don't need to do (I'm very underweight), but maybe all the sugar and stuff I put in it will balance it out for me..:goodvibes

Oatmeal is OK but there is nothing better than a bowl of Farina with butter and sugar and a pool of milk. YUM. I have loved that since I was little.
Farina and Chicken Ramen Noodles were the only two things I could keep down during my chemo. I absolutly love it.

I've tried it but it just doesn't beat a bowl of GRITS for this southern girl!:)

Oh - I like Farina too! Haven't had it since the last time I was hospitalized though (1999).. Maybe I'll put that on my grocery list..:goodvibes It would be a nice change..

OT if you don't mind.. My dear friend who passed away in November after many, many years of battling ovarian cancer always loved all kinds of food.. However, after the last form of chemo they gave her she could never eat - or even look - at tomato sauce again.. Didn't have any bad experiences with it while she was ill - never got sick from eating it - just suddenly developed this "problem" after that one particular form of chemo.. Did anything like that ever happen to you?

Sooooo glad you are doing well now..

Yay oatmeal! :cheer2: I eat it almost everyday. It brings back happy memories from my childhood. Every Saturday morning, my mother would lay out a blanket in front of the TV -- us kids would sit on it, watch Saturday cartoons and eat oatmeal.

You know what is so good -- Maple & Brown Sugar-flavored oatmeal with a scoop of Cool Whip mixed in.
