Do you find the TV programme funny?

I hardly ever watch them anymore. I find them OK, but I don't really get the whole Simpsons Phenomena thing.;)

Never been a super big fan, but since I went to school with Dan Castalanetta (the voice of Homer) I do pay attention to new stories etc. on the show.

I'm somewhere in between I don't like them and They are okay. I guess I have to be in the mood.

Its a great show.
That family always sticks together in the end.

whats not to like?

I don't think I've ever watched it. If I have, it's been less than 5 minutes.

The Simpsons is hilarious. Some episodes leave me in tears I laugh so hard. Soooo funny!

By far the best comedy and commentary on society on televison today.

Love it, but I love Family Guy much more. I can't understand how that show went off the air so fast.

I love the fact that the show seems so simplistic, but when you watch it, there's a lot that one can easily miss. A lot of the jokes and storylines reference books, classic movies, etc....
The more you know of these things, the funnier they are. However, the show is still funny regardless of you having read the books they're referring to or not.

Kinda like how "O Brother Where Art Thou?" is a lot better if you had read the Odyssey.

ITA. I had never paid much attention to the show and when my son was 6, 7, or 8 years old, I hated it, because of course he wanted to watch it (no one wants their son to be like Bart!), so it was always a battle. As he got older, I eased up on the restriction, but still didn't like it. Then I heard very intelligent people talk about some of the story lines and plots and the references that were made. You have to be very well read and well rounded to catch all of the jokes! I like to watch now to see what I can catch! (But I still don't watch that often - just when DS comes upstairs to watch TV with us and turns it on)

I used to watch the Simpsons about 8yrs ago. Now I maybe have watched them 5 times since then. I have no problems with the show it is just not what I am into these days.
