Yes I like candles as well. I dont buy them anymore, I make them myself LOL.. A friend of mine use to have a homemade candle business, and Id buy from her all the time. One day she should me how easy it was to make them, and been hooked ever since. I usually only make them around the holidays and give as gifts. My favorite ones are the gel candles, they look so pretty when they are burning. Sometimes my candles come out really pretty, sometimes they are not so pretty, but they always smell nice.

I love candles - Partylite are my favorite. For those who are concerned about the mess from the black smoke, that's why I like Partylite. Partylite candles don't have that black smoke when they burn (something about the wicks not containing lead or something) so they burn much cleaner & don't leave black soot on the walls or ceiling. I used to buy Yankee all the time, and still do sometimes, but prefer the Partylite candles for this reason.

My mom uses them all the time! But I'm afraid when she lights them my cat will knock them over and start a fire, I have numerous nightmares about that! I'm even afraid of the electic candles!!

I burn cnadles all the time, even when I am the only one at home :)

I used to order from Partylite all the time, I found out that the Colonial at Home is made by Partylite and you can buy them at Carson's here.

I have never tried Yankee Candles  but I heard that they were really good.

I like the fruity ones, the natural scents and very, very few florals.

I LOVE candles, but will only buy Yankee Candles. Nothing compares in my opinion.

I burn them everyday. Come home from work and light my large jar in the living room each day.

I like them better in the colder months when the house is closed up because you can smell them better. In the summer with the windows open I think I am making the atmosphere smell better than my house ;)

I love candles, but refuse to waste money on Yankees anymore. They don't smell much at all - esp for the price! I only like those that are really strong, so I feel I'm getting my money's worth.

The best I have found are the ones my aunt makes. A small jar candle burning in the back of the house can be smelt when I open the front door. Now THAT'S a strong candle! Plus her prices are 1/4 the price of Yankees. Dreamers and Henri Bendels are also strong, and I like them.

I buy them whenI run out. We recently ran out of all the ones we had so she's delivering 7 more to me tonight. I like most scents, really - nothing too floraly. I love linen and other fresh scents, pumpkin and apple pie, etc.

Good luck in your new endeavor!

I burn Yankee candles all of the time, year round. In the winter, I like "Home Sweet Home", "Christmas Eve", or "Christmas Cookie", and in the summer I like "Sunwashed Linen", "Ocean Water", or "Fresh Comfort". In the spring, for a transitional from summer to winter, I like either "Tulips" or "Lilac".

I love Yankee Candle and still like some scents from PartyLite. I found, from when I sold PartyLite, that the biggest problem was people felt the holders were overpriced.

Thanks for all the replies.I was just wondering how people felt about them.I loves Partylite but I got tired of them after awhile.

The candles I will be selling will not have the black soot,it does ruin your walls.

I will let you know how it goes.

Thanks again,
Misty

I have TONS of candles. Right here in this room, I have 19 - 22 oz. jar candles from Yankee. Our bookstore (also Hallmark) sells a flavor every month for $15.00 each and I buy several of those each month. The Root candle company is my favorite really, but I can't find their candles locally anymore. :( I also buy MANY candles from Home Interiors and hubby surprises me now and again with candles from Home and Garden or Partylite when someone he works with is selling. My favorite store in the mall is Wicks'n'Sticks and buy a good bit there. I always buy for fundraisers too. Sometimes the school sells them, or the Relay For Life sells them to raise money for cancer (Blue Mountain candles). I've also made several soy candles myself, but I put them in such nice containers and such I mostly just decorate with those.

I think you should give it a shot. If you make a good candle, they'll sell. Everyone I know loves candles!

I used to be big into candles. Now I only light them when the power goes out, at Christmas and when I take a bath. :goodvibes

I like candles, but I rarely burn them now that I have a 2 year old and a 1 year old. It just seems like a bad combination.

I never liked them as much as some people seem to. I used to always have a lot around the house, but I never went nuts over them. I had an incident in college where a wick moved in a votive candle, and it ended up making the glass holder it was in shatter all over the place. Since then, I'll only burn them in the room that I'm in. That keeps me from burning through them very quickly.

I love candles, but I don't buy them very often. 95% of the candles I have were gifts from various people.

I love candles, especially in the winter - feels so nice and cozy when there are candles, but have to be so careful w/them w/2 small kids around... That reminds me, I'm running low on candles and I got a Bed Bath and Beyond flyer with the new yankee candle scent advertised!!

I love candles. I usually burn them during the colder seasons and fall. I love to smell pumpkin spice, apple pie, Christmas berry or warm vanillas for the winter. I love the look of candles during the evenings as well. May favorite is floating candles. I usually buy candles from Illuminations, Christmas Tree Shop, and Bath & Body.
