How does it work? Is it considered gambling? What if the state you live in says gambling in against the law? Does that mean we who live in that state can't take part in online gaming for money?

I ask because GSN (Game Show Network) has games you can play for real money, but it really doesn't explain much. I know I put real money into my account, but how do they pay out? I am really good at some of the games, and if I can make a little money, that would be great. Just not sure if I am able to, where I live in MA and it's against the law to gamble.

Tell me everything you know about playing for real money.

Thanks

my husband used to play online poker for cash. We set up a separate account (most sites, at least at that time, required you to link a checking account to play) to keep his gambling funds apart from household budget account.

My understanding is that most online gambling sites are hosted outside the U.S and therefore not subject to our laws.

We never had any problems, I mean no issues with the amounts either credits or debits being incorrect. My DH's poker craze faded and he hasn't played for real money in a few years.

My advice would be to check out the website you decide to play with, surely you can get some feedback on gambling forums, etc from other players.

Good luck
Christine

My friend's brother plays poker online...constantly. He even suggest having that be his full time job post college, as you can imagine that didn't go over well with his parents. I know for him he ends up just breaking even, maybe earning a bit of money- but if you consider the phrase "time is money" well then he is loosing A LOT! I think it can be a lot of fun, just like get lotto tickets or gambling in general but I get the feeling some people see it as a safe/easy way to get money and I would guess that that can't always be the case. Sorry I don't know anything about the legality but my friends in WI and NJ do it and I imagine it's legal.

A guy at my husband's work used to come in on weekends or off hours, he was high up so he had his own key. Well the boss caught on and he actually got fired. He was on my husband's facebook and we saw he was winning alot of money playing poker. The sad thing was his wife was sitting at home, no clue and is battling cancer.

Not playing games but I know a CHILD that is making $$$ selling game servers online. He makes about $70 a server- in the past 3 weeks he has sold 8 of them!
Now how this all works I have no idea. He is involved in a lot of gaming websites-so I think that's how he does it.

My son is developing a game with this boy. :confused3
