We have never gotten a towel animal at a resort, but had them every night on the cruise- it never occurred to me to keep them. I read on another thread that someone had "come back with a suitcase full". Just wondering?

No. Technically that would be stealing the hotels towels, which I would never do. Besides, if you pick the animals up, don't they kind of fall apart?

We kept the ones we received last year. They travel surprisingly well and they are actually still together in my DD's room.

Everything I have read on the boards says that Disney expects you to take the towel animals home.

has anyone got any photos of towel animals? not quite sure what they are!

We still have one of the towel bunnies house keeping left my DD at WL 5 yrs ago. And I'm sure she will still have it when she is my age. :wizard:

I have pictures of all of them, but don't know how to post them : :rolleyes Anyway, we had a monkey on a coat hanger, a stingray, a frog, our stateroom host was awesome (Alexandro)

We have one from last years trip to the GF. It was our first and it looks like a snow child. I did ask housekeeping and she said it was a gift. We didn't take any from our cruise, but we did take pictures of each one.

No, they don't belong to me--- they are washclothes and like other washcloths and towels, belong to the resort... they are only there to amuse, not to take.

Last year mousekeeping left a different animal everyday. On the last day they left a small angel. I asked if I could have it and she said yes, that is a gift to you. It was made out of 4 washcloths. I never thought to ask about the larger ones. Oh, and I did'nt take the larger ones

On our first day at CBR, my DD and DS each received a small towel bunny. We checked with the CM and she said it was okay to take home. The towel animals are on shelves in their rooms and have lasted pretty well.

I agree completely. I would consider it stealing too.

That said, I am not surprized if you ask to take them they so sure - after all as Disney is in the business of meking their guests happy.

No. I did not purchase them. I always think that the part of the reason costs for all services and goods are high is because of theft.

My son really, really wanted to, but I told him we couldn't take them. I figured since they were made from washcloths, that it would be the same as stealing towels, etc. I never really thought to ask about them though. Maybe if we're as lucky this time...I'll ask :)

When we asked a manager we were told they were for our enjoyment while we were there. Not ours to keep.

That is what I always heard was the policy, too! After I kept reading about everyone taking them, I began to think that maybe the policy had changed. Glad to see it hasn't. We don't need rates to go up anymore due to having to replace washclothes.

Why would you keep them? They belong to the hotel. They are just towels made up in shapes not gifts to keep.

I wonder if mousekeeping has told people "they are a gift" in order to increase their tips! Hate to be cynical on a Disney board, but it seems that the pattern has been that mousekeepers say "yes" and managers say "no". It doesn't affect the housekeeping staff to give away washcloths.

If we're lucky enough to get one, I think I'll just take pictures for the kids' scrapbooks.

We just took pics of our towel creations. We would put them on the table in our room. On the next to last day we took a pic of them, except the chicken looking thing they hung in our window from the mini blind. Mousekeeping also made a cute toothbrush holder out of a washcloth with stickers on it. Our favorite creature was the elephant.

I took a few of the washcloth animals on our last trip. They aren't the best pictures, but it'll give you an idea. We got a bunny and a bird. The kids were thrilled!
