I almost always keep the cards that DH gives me. And now that we have DS, I just can't throw out the cards that he gives me, nor can I throw out the cards he receives. I'm such a packrat...I still have every card given to us from our wedding...that was almost 4 years ago and I don't think I ever looked at them since the wedding...I just can throw them out! I know I need to, but I just can't! Do you keep your cards? If so, what do you do with them?

I'm the same as you, I can get rid of most Christmas and birthday cards, but I have every card from our wedding and from my baby shower. I don't know why!

I do keep the cards DH and DD give me. I also have kept significant cards for DD like ones people sent when we got home from China, for her christening, her 1st birthday etc. I don't save every birthday card she get though. Actually she plays with them until they are pretty ratty and then they go in the trash.

I save cards sometimes. I have quite a few in one of my drawers. I have a few birthday cards, some from my communion, the ones that my second grade class made for me when I was in the hospital with pneumonia, and a few others. I also saved all the cards my boyfriend gave me, because he always writes something really sweet in them. They're all sitting on my nightstand, but soon I'm not gonna have room for them anymore.

My better half keeps every card that has ever passed through the door. I sometimes have to thin the pile out when she isn't home.
Why do I need a Christmas card from 1995?

I have kept most of the cards the girls gave me for birthdays and Mother's Day. Most are hand made. I love to go read them and see their 5 yearold hnadwriting. They're very cute. My husband tends to write silly poems in the cards he gives me, which can be for most any occasion, from birthdays, Mother's Day, to ,"I was just thinking about you," Day. I have a fabric covered box in the top of my closet that holds them all. It's a cardboard drawer, basically, so it's easy to slip card in it.

Guilty!

I don't save every single one, but a lot of them. I have a container in the closet that they go in. It's a lot of fun to look back and read some of the notes that DH wrote to me in highschool, those are the best :)

I take last years x-mas card and putthe back off and mail them as x-mas postcards

Saves some $$$

I saved all of our wedding cards and put them in a scrapbook. Nothing fancy, just sort of pasted them in, but it is nice to have those from a special occasion. Others, I have saved were from the births of our kids and put them in a plastic bag and put it right in the photo album. Others I save here and there but for the most part out they go!

I bought each of my girls a keepsake box to put their cards in. After a while, I got lazy and just threw them up in a closet to divide out later. Last fall I went through them and 2 twenty dollar bills and 2 fives came flying out of the pile! I had put them away with money still in them!

So yes, I save everything.

The Christmas cards get rubber-banded by year and thrown in a box in the attic. So many are pics that I can't throw out.

I keep the really special ones in a box in my closet.

The ones with cute pictures I keep in a clear plastic tub in the craft closet and the kids cut them up and use them for art projects.

Some I actually throw away now - a big step for me - if I had more storage space, I'd keep them all - but decided I need to make room for things like clothes in the closet.

I used to keep more than I do now ;)
And I have cleaned out a lot the old ones.
I saved the most special ones from DH, DS and DD.
I do still have all my wedding cards stored away with all the other wedding stuff (almost 30 years!! ).

I also still have some of the cards that I "inherited" from my mother's wedding in the 1940's :)

I would keep them all. I threw away most of the cards my h gave me, but I kept one. As a reminder that things were good once upon a time.

We put the pictures we receive in Christmas cards in a photo album. It's neat to be able to see all of our friends and kids and how they have changed from year to year.

The cards.... Out they go!

Of course since I'm such a pack rat, I keep almost all cards I've received. Some of my favorites are ones that I received from my Grandmas when they were alive ( I love seeing their handwriting ) , but my favorite is one I got for my 7th birthday. It was from my uncle who gave me $35 to buy my first bike. It said to "Have a rootin-tootin 7th birthday." That was many years ago, but mainly I keep cards for sentimental reasons. ( same with old letters ). :sunny:

I tend to keep the cards from my husband. The others, I have to be strong and throw them away. This is hard for me because I think I am sentimental. I've got some baby shower cards from my 17 yr. old's son's baby shower. They're in a decorative box.
