Do you keep a back up car rental reservation?

We are going to Vegas in March. I usually do my rental thru Costco. I have a car with them but I signed up for Autoslash and they came up with a lower rate with Priceline using Hertz. It is about $50 less but since I have never rented using Priceline I am concerned about having an issue when I pick up the car. I don't like to keep a 2nd reservation but don't want to wind up with no car. What do you do???

I would read some reviews about renting cars via Priceline. If they come back good, I'd cancel the Costco one. If they come back "iffy", I'd hold the costco one and cancel it after I get my car.

However, Vegas is easy to do with Rideshare (if all you're doing is Vegas). You can always rideshare to a hotel and pick up a car from somewhere other than the airport if things fall through.

I’ve used Autoslash many times (Priceline) and never once had any issues. I don’t think you need a backup.

I've only used Autoslash to book my car rentals for the last 4 years. I've never had an issue and any story I've ever heard about an issue involving Autoslash, Autoslash made it right, even out of their own pocket if necessary. The only reason to have a back up reservation is if you're worried about the company not having a car for you.
If you put in your Hertz Gold Plus number on Priceline, you can see the reservation is as it should be on the Hertz site, including the price.
