on your business card? I am always afraid I will scare potential clients off!

This is a little funny. I'm a photographer, and I sometimes make photos for clients to put on their business cards. On my business card I have portraits I've made for other people, but not my own. For one thing, the best pic I have of myself is from a snapshot (self portraits are not my thing and I don't want to pay another photographer to do my photo or bother with it  ). And secondly, I look like a million other balding 50+ yr old white American males and don't figure I'm going to attract a lot of business with my mug anyway. :lmao:

That's a "cow hat" in the upper right of my photo, with light up eyes and a loud "mooooo", that I sometimes wear to get children to look my way during portraits. (The photographer has no dignity. )

no pictures on my business cards, ever. :teeth:

Stan, your pictures are gorgeous. I think I'm going to be calling you soon to do some family pics over on the Courtney Campbell. The ones you have on the page are so nice. Either there or St. Pete Beach!

Thanks.

So many nice places to do portraits in and around Orlando, not just counting Disney. I couldn't do what I do where we used to live in PA... at least not 7 months out of the year. :teeth:

Funny thing about those "beach" areas along the CCC- the roadways along the sand are 1-way and entrances are far apart. We had to follow a narrow, low clearance turnaround that went underneath one of the bridges. It was a little scary even in daylight in a medium sized minivan. It would have been terrifying at night and/or in a really big/tall SUV.

Back on topic... I think a portrait on a business card is important for a real estate agent or anyone else who has to come across as friendly and easy to work with. Maybe also for a personal trainer or hair stylist or doctor. Any other professions/occupations come to mind?

Yes - I'm a real estate agent and I think it is important for people to see my face before deciding to work with me. Not that I have a great face but I like to think I look friendly and honest. :goodvibes

Nope. It isn't really appropriate for my profession (architect). If I were a real estate agent or doing something in sales, maybe.

No, not on my business card, but I do on my personal brochure as well as website.

I thought the only people who put photos on their cards and ads were real estate agents, insurance agents and chiropractors. Actually, I have no idea whether insurance agents and chiros have pictures on their business cards, but they all have them in their ads here.

I would feel totally ridiculous passing out a business card with my photo on it. This has nothing to do with the way I look -- just seems cheesy to me.

Oh heck no!

But then again, I don't think anyone who would receive my business card would really care what the cube monkey who was writing their database logic really looked like! :lmao:

Nope! I've neve seen anyone in my profession with a picture on their card.

I've always wondered why real estate agents have their picture everywhere. Is there a reason??

Mine are just boring old text! But then I don't think I should have my picture on my cards I don't really really work with clients so I don't think it's that important.

I am a RE broker. :rotfl2: I stopped having my picture put on my cards years ago when I found some that I had left at a cafe, somebody had drawn a moustache on all of them  and horns.

My name and number is all over town though :teeth:

I hate it when someone does something that's mean, childish, and destructive... but just funny enough I find I have to laugh about it anyway. Kind of tough to be appropriately indignant when you're giggling.

I try to leave my business cards in public places, too. That's kind of dicey for me, though. Last thing I need is to offend Disney or any other big entity around Orlando. A stack of my cards in the wrong place could get someone to asking, "Who is this guy and why is he marketing himself here?" :rolleyes2

So, when I've eaten at a restaurant I'll usually leave a card with my check (then I have to make sure I'm tipping enough! ), or I'll hand one over to anyone I'm dealing with (sales clerks etc).

Don't these people look better than me, anyway?
