Do you have to check in hand luggage twilight checkin?

Hi , have read a few threads regarding the Gatwick twilight check in and am still feeling stupid regarding hand luggage?
What exactly happens?
I know that everyone who is flying have to be there, passports etc, then ovbiously your main lugguge but what happens with carry on .Do they need you to bring that also to be weighed or do you just in the morning put it through security check etc. ???
Sorry to seem so Dumb can someone please enlighten me.

Hi Chucklechops!

When we did this (2 years ago though so hopefully someone else will have more up-to-date info) we simply took our hand luggage with us the morning of the flight - there was no mention made at Twilight check-in as to weight etc.

Thank's Karen, I was just getting into a panic as I have 2 young children who always have a bag full of goodies to keep them amused!!
I was hopeing that would be the reply,

We also left our hand luggage at home - nothing was said at all. (This was at the end of March this year).

Hi there chucklechops

When we flew to Orlando in March we only had to check in our suitcases (and we had to tell them where we were stopping that evening).

When we flew out end March we only checked in suitcases, no mention was made of handluggage. The next morning when we turned up to the departure gate, all these people were there with baggage labels on their handluggage! Did I panic!!! Felt too stupid to say anything but the Virgin staff did come over and ask to pick up our handluggage to check the weight (not on a machine, they just picked it up). Perhaps the people with the baggage labels on their handluggage had had it weighed the night before because we were the only ones they asked.

On way back we used luggagecheckin at Downtown Disney so I took our handluggage with us in case we needed to get it weighed. They didn't even weigh our suitcases!!!LOL
