Do you have nightly rituals?

That you absolutely have to do before you go to bed every night?

Even if I didn't cook, I have to check to be sure all of the knobs on the stove are turned to "off".

Every night I brush & braid my hair and the last thing I do is make sure every single light in the house is off (porch lights too), then pick up my cat and take her upstairs with me to bed

Other than the usual grooming-ice water by the bed or I can't sleep.

I tell the dog, "Let's go sleepies!" He always goes running down the hall and jumps in the bed. It's his favorite time of day.

Yup. There's all the normal 'getting ready for bed' stuff of course. Lately I try to have a cup of hot chocolate before bed... helps me to sleep better. I usually pour myself a glass of water for beside my bed.

Then I have my more unusual rituals. Like, every night before I go to sleep I look under the bed. LOL, I don't know why this is and I just started doing it a year or so ago so it's not a childhood thing, I just feel the need to check. Don't know what I'd do if I found something!

And my newest ritual... I peek outside of my window to see if it's a starry night.

After the house is all locked up for the night, I have to give my favorite cat a drink out of the bathroom sink (he'll only drink from the faucet) and then take him to bed with me. He cuddles up next to my pillow and takes a bath while I read. When I'm finished reading, I bury my face in his fur and fall asleep.

I usually have my window open during the day, so before I go to bed, I check if it's closed.

I talk to my sweetie on the phone every night before I go to sleep.

I also brush my teeth.

I make sure everything is locked up and then go upstairs and cover/kiss the boys and then say a prayer for them. (they are still too little to really do it themselves, 22 months and 3)

I check the doors & the kids........then I have to make sure that there are not any wrinkles in the sheets before I lay down. I can't lay down on wrinkly sheets! I know it's strange

Hubby puts Lulu (our cat) to bed and i go upstair to get ready for bed. I always ask him if hes 'locked us in' and set the alarm.

I have been told that this is weird but I always spray perfume on before I go to bed. I have a certain one that relaxes me and smells so pretty! I think it makes me have a better night sleep I also have to sleep with a certain "bed time" scrunchie in my hair. It fits perfect and I get really upset when I misplace it. I know, weird little quirks, but that's what I like
