I'm adding this new one: I've been online for the past 45 minutes on all kinds of nerdy bird-calling Web sites trying to find a bird that's behind our house. I swear, this bird is giving me the bird equivalent of "the bird." It starts "singing" at about 5:30 a.m. and doesn't shut up until about 8 p.m. I swear, I've gone out on our deck a dozen times and literally thrown rocks at our treeline trying to hit this unknown bird.
So tonight I actually SAW it. It was waaaay up there and looked like a small blue jay/cardinal (had a plume on its head) but I'm still not sure what it is. DH knows my plight and offered to shoot it (ummmm, we live in a subdivision, you have a pistol, it's 50 yds. away and your pistols aren't even in this county [they're at his dad's house]).
Seriously. This rackafracka bird tops anything you guys can post here. It's become a saga. Me vs. Mr. Bird. Something's gotta give or it's going to get ugly.

I can snap my gum to sound like a machine gun. I don't chew gum anymore because it became such a habit when I was nervous.
