Do You Have A TV In Your Bedroom?

We did back when we were first married and living in a one bedroom apartment. I quickly grew to hate it. I didn't like it when I came to be to sleep and she was already watching something because I would either have to interrupt her viewing or I would have to go to sleep with amounted to a big flickering lamp in the room.

We rarely watch TV now days anyway. If we are doing anything other than sleeping or, um, uh, sleeping in our bedroom, it's reading. We both have nice little reading lights that are dim enough and directional enough not to disturb each other when one of us wants to go to sleep before the other. On those rare occasions that she wants to watch something at night, she goes up to the theater room where she can watch it as loud and long as she wants without bothering anyone.

I can't fall asleep without the TV on. DH falls asleep literally 1-3 minutes of getting into bed (seriously, we've timed it) so I don't think the TV is affecting our marriage. I'm up twice a night to feed the little one anyway so I'm basically getting little naps in, lol. No point in turning it off!

We're the same way. DW can't fall sleep without the TV on. I would really prefer having it off, but it doesn't bother me enough to keep me awake, so it's ok.

Besides, we have 5 kids in the house and our teenagers are often up later than we are, so sometimes background noise is a good thing. :thumbsup2

Okay now that is a justification for the TV I can undersand:rotfl2:
Ok. I'll go with the vase and flowers. We're not going to WDW until August anyway. She's been asking me to paint the bedroom. Maybe I'll "accidentally" break the TV while I'm painting.
So if Disney puts her in the mood maybe you can paint tinkerbell on the wall:confused3:rotfl:

Nope. We have one TV in the house and don't turn it on very often. We have absolutely no interest in having one in our bedroom.

TV rots your brain and lowers your IQ. ;)

That's all I need... for the room to look like a little girl's room, (and you didn't want to to think about riding Dumbo at the same time).

I once booked a bed and breakfast for 2 nights that had no tv, phone or anything in the rooms. DH was not happy, and almost made me cancle this BEAUTIFUL B&B to stay at a holiday inn... So yeah, we have a TV in the bedroom.

LOL, that's the reason I never book B&Bs!! I have to have a TV in my bedroom!

Right now we're booking a rental home and every request I send requires a TV in the master. The owners are sometimes :confused3 but who cares? It's what I like! :goodvibes

:happytv::laughing::rotfl2:

I'll remember to tell that to all my degrees.

:lmao:, I had no tv in my room before I met my husband, and when we married he had a tv in his. I can not stand a tv in our bedroom nor a computer. I'm with AC keeping them honest:rolleyes1, I think that the TV and computer gets more play than I do:sad2:

Okay so paint Woody instead;)

okay so we are learning: Do not marry anyone who has a TV in their bedroom:rolleyes:--unless you have one also.

We have never had a tv in our bedroom in the UK and our kids were never allowed one either.
However, we have a vacation home in Florida which the management company rents out to Americans or Canadians whenever our family is not using it. During the furnishing process we were told that it was imperative to have a tv in the master bedroom as the target market expected it.
So we have one there but never use it!!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:I can't take it anymore. She's really going to wonder what's going on when I go home tonight and start laying the drop cloths and look at her with a twinkle in my eye.

We just upgraded to a 42 inch flat screen in our bedroom yesterday.

I don't watch TV at night in there, nor does my husband so it's not like TV has replaced anything;)-we watch TV mainly in the living room in the evening.

Small house, if we want more than one TV, one will have to go in the bedroom-I am not willing to share 1 TV with the rest of my family.
It's the living room, the kitchen, the kids rooms, or my bedroom--my bedroom wins.

We do have a TV in the playroom in the basement, but the adults don't hang out down there and in the winter it's too chilly for the kids, so they often watch TV in my room.

Keep her guessing--women like a little mystery.:rotfl:

Ford Family--the quote didn't show up but I have to comment that HAVING to have a TV in the vacation house cracked me up. It never occurred to me to think of that. We rent vacation homes a couple of times a year and I honestly couldn't tell you if any of them (other than the one studio in London) had a TV in the bedroom or not. Apparently I am not the target market:rotfl:

Wife: "Honey, watcha doing?"

Disneyplanningdad: "Painting a giant Woody on our bedroom wall."

Wife: "Oh Honey, you sure know a thing or two about romance!"

Disneyplanningdad: "Ride like the wind, Bullseye!" :woohoo:

DH has one in his bedroom. I used to have one in mine, but I could only watch movies since it wasn't hooked up to DirecTV and I almost never did watch any so we put that TV in our guest camper up north. DH has his on a timer and falls to sleep with it on almost every night.

I don't see how having a TV in your bedroom can ruin any part of a marriage. Only if you allow it to I guess. :confused3

No, but there's one in the sitting room right off the bedroom. To me, the bedroom is a like a sanctuary....lots of fluffy pillows, nice bedding, no flickering light from the tv.
