Do You Have A TV In Your Bedroom?

we do but with no DVR box or HD so we most often opt to watch in the living room or "mantown"
I do love snuggling up and watching the history channel or an old movie on AMC to fall asleep.

We have one in our bedroom. Won't allow the kids to have one in theirs though.

:thumbsup2 We tell the kids they can when they are adults, living in their own homes.

OK... so You just convinced me but what do I say to DDW when she sees me moving the TV out of the bedroom?

Tell her you read somewhere that a TV in the Bedroom may be causing her "headaches":confused3

No, but I wish I did and may get one for the holidays. My laundry room is connected to the bedroom and quite frankly I hate folding laundry so it would be nice to be able to watch tv while I fold a few loads. It seems silly to drag the laundry downstairs fold it then schlep it upstairs, plus the beagle does not allow laundry to be folded in his presence, bad things happen :scared1:

I fold laundry on our bed when I'm watching TV. Makes it go much faster. I hate laundry!!

Now I have a picture of a jungle gym in our bedroom. I bet DH would go for it!

Usually, DW watches 10 PM news before going to bed, and one of us will occasionally go there if we don't like what's on in the main room.

Nope, no tv in our bedroom. DD has one in hers, though. I just don't see a need for one.

Yes and it is a BIG one..... :rotfl2:

The only place I watch TV is in the kitchen while I'm working or in the bedroom. We don't even have another TV on the main floor of our home. Our DD has one in the family room upstairs but not one in her bedroom. The only problem it causes is that DH and I can never agree on what to watch. I like reality TV and HGTV. He makes fun of "look at those closets!" and "paint the fence". Occasionally we find something we both like such as Entourage or a movie. He doesn't watch much TV and no sports ever. He rarely sits down... That's a good thing cuz he gets lots done around the house. :thumbsup2

Nope, never have, never will. DH wants one, but I don't like it blaring in the living room...I certainly don't want one in my bedroom, too.:)

Yes. Ours is 42".

I watch the news in the morning. Our master bedroom is one of those awful suites and the sinks are actually also in the bedroom, where I dry my hair, do make-up, perfum and all that girly stuff. There is a smaller suite for the shower and such. "And such" means the toilet.

I also use that TV for when I'm putting away laundry or watching something that husband dislikes, like an old sappy movie. It is also my haven for when Billy the Exterminator is dealing with roaches, which I will not watch.

We also have a smaller TV in the office. You should come to my house for football season. We'll have all TVs on so we don't miss something as we do weekly chores.

I can't fall asleep without the TV on. DH falls asleep literally 1-3 minutes of getting into bed (seriously, we've timed it) so I don't think the TV is affecting our marriage. I'm up twice a night to feed the little one anyway so I'm basically getting little naps in, lol. No point in turning it off!

Yes we do, but I never watch it. My husband only watches it occasionally when he wants to watch football and I want to watch something else. Very rare.

However, a ton of reading is going on in there!

I once booked a bed and breakfast for 2 nights that had no tv, phone or anything in the rooms. DH was not happy, and almost made me cancle this BEAUTIFUL B&B to stay at a holiday inn... So yeah, we have a TV in the bedroom.

OK... so You just convinced me but what do I say to DDW when she sees me moving the TV out of the bedroom?

Okay so I know it is all in jest but here goes a realish answer anyway. Take it out and put a big, beautiful vase of flower there. Put in fresh flowers every week. It is a much nicer use of the space and would feel romantic without being pushy for, um, other things--you have to get back to cuddling I would think first.
You might have to tell her the TV broke too . . . (okay lying is not really the way to go:rolleyes:).
In all seriousness it is FINE that people have TVs in the bedroom and it is great that it works for them but I just cannot imagine falling asleep to the TV any night that my husband is home. We have been married 14 years and were together 5 years before that and the idea is just foreign to me. I guess the really good thing is that we are on the same page as a couple--and anyone else who is on the same page, no matter what the page is, is pretty lucky too.

I had a tv in my bedroom as a kid and constantly played Space Invaders

No tv in the bedroom these days, just sleep
