I was thinking today that our new house has no "creepy" rooms.:thumbsup2

In our last house, I did NOT like the feel of the Family Room. I just got the willies in there - stayed out of it as often as possible.

Any "weird" rooms in your house?:scared1:

No creepy rooms in my house unless you count the entire basement. Our next-door neighbors house is nearly identical to ours in layout (post-war brick Georgian) and their house is creepy. Maybe because one of the previous owners chased her husband up the basement stairs, through the kitchen, dining room, living room, up the main stairs to the bedrooms - the entire time shooting at him. There are still two places in the woodwork where it was chipped by a bullet. She finally did him in in the big bedroom. Creepy.

my kitchen......the thing hisses at me everytime I walk into it. I don't understand why....maybe its because everytime I just WALK by the oven the smoke alarm goes off....WITHOUT even cooking!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Not in this house. In our house back in Missouri, there was a large closet in the basement that led to the crawl space and I would get the chills sometimes going in there. Growing up it was my Mom's room. I would walk by even in the daytime and see flashes of the girl from the Exorcist sitting in her bed.:scared1:

My Bathroom!

Really needs a scrubbin!

Not the house I live in right now but when I was younger I lived in an old apartment building and I hated living there. Not just one room but the whole place gave me the heeby jeebies. The first floor of the building was a store and there was 2 apartments in the top. One was mine and the other was empty. It was just creeeeepy.

No creepy rooms in the house we live in now, but we used to live in a house that had a dirt floor in the cellar. There was also an old wooden door that led into another section of the cellar. You could not have paid me enough money to go down into that cellar. I remember reading Stephen Kings's book, Salem's Lot in that house, and not wanting to go upstairs, (the upstairs was kind of creepy, too), by myself.

I have to say, I would NEVER, EVER live in a house where I knew a murder had been committed.:scared1:

Not in this new house, but like others I dreaded going into the family room. I don't know why but I just got chills going in the place. The kids never seemed to be affected by it, so I made them clean it up. When we moved and I had to go in there and clean I did it really quick and hired a painter to paint the downstairs including that room.

We moved to the area in the 90's and AFTER we got that particular house, a neighbor was telling us how a lady lived in the house and one day left and noone saw her again. After a few weeks there was a horrid smell coming from the place. Come to find out she had left several animals, mostly cats, in cages in the family room. The police wouldn't even go in the place. So much for disclosure! Guess it was this HUGE news story at the time. I figured that was why I never went into the family room...the ghosts of all those poor animals.

About a month ago....at about 2:00 a.m........ the doorbell rang.
Woke us both up.
It rang repeatedly, faster and faster......
There wasn't anyone at the door......
We looked out of every window, nothing....

DH checked the doorbell the next day,
it functioned properly.

We live next to a cemetery....:scared1:

Okay I don't believe in ghosts, or demons or angels or palm reading... I am the queen of non-believing, but I have an imagination you wouldn't believe when it comes to creep outs, and I have lived in more homes than anyone should... so I have plenty. So here are just a couple.

Here.. our basement has two extra rooms with doors which will not stay closed... they are cold, dark, filled with cob webs and who knows what else, and have dirt floors. I hate that basement and tend to run down, do my laundry as fast as possible, then run up the stairs. Sometimes there is light coming out of the basement when the lights are all off!

We had an apartment a few years ago. (someone else mentioned a place just like it, there had been a store underneath and two other little apartments upstairs) We moved in, I spent about a week sleeping in the bedroom, then found reason to sleep in the living room for the rest of the two years we lived there. I had nightmares that there were demons in the bedroom, and I was freaked out about letting the kids use the room even for toys. This was also the place we were in when my older two had a ghost friend and other scarey ghosts which they would press into the wall to make them go away.

When I was a kid we moved into a big house and it had a built in hutch in the kitchen. If you walked into the hutch and looked up there was a door which led up to an attic. I was terrified and curious at the same time... I never opened it though... guess fear took over. We heard noises from up there, and my mom was sure that the guys who had been taking care of the house before we moved in had continued to use that room after we moved in. (two very creepy men) She made the landlord change the locks... and we never heard the noises again.

Both of my children are afraid of the library...which is my favorite room. I guess it's because it's panelled with bookshelves and "musty" smelling books? :confused3 But it also has a wonderful fireplace, where we hang Christmas stockings.

It is at the back of the house, in a corner, so it is darker than the other rooms.

I need to stop coming back to this thread. I am getting seriously freaked out.:scared: Patti, can you request that this thread be locked??:rotfl:

Not in this house, but in my parents' house there was a particular room that always gave me and my friends the creeps. Mirrors broke a lot in that house, too. It was really weird. One time I left my hand mirror on my dresser and I came back to find it broken halfway across the room. Also, the top of the stairs always creeps me out. You can almost feel a hand at the top of your back.

My friends and I also heard voices in the house and my niece used to see an old woman with a "sweater that went around and around" (a shawl? :confused3 ). One day I was giving her a bath and I was in the tub with her. She was about 4. She looks over by the toilet and says "why is that old lady in here?" I about freaked out! I said, "there's no one in here!" but grabbed her and we both jumped up and flew out of the bathroom naked and wet. :scared1:

Before the remodel we had a small room under the staircase. It did not bother me, buy my oldest always referred to it as "the Harry Potter room". :wizard:
