Do you have a Pfaltzgraff pattern?

We used to have Cape May. Now we have Patio Garden. When we re-did our kitchen with cherry cabinets and earthtone floor with green glass insets, I was thrilled to find this pattern that I think is the perfect compliment. I love it, but I have to always remind DS16 not to bump it on cabinet edges or bump the plates together because some of our dinner plates have gotten chipped.

Heirloom. A lot of heirloom. My bridal shower was almost comical. Look, another piece of Heirloom. Serving & baking pieces too. I even have matching silverware. lol

I still like it today. 20+ yrs later and the plain color still goes with everything. We just updated our kitchen and it fits in perfectly still.

Its held up really well. One baking dish finally cracked after too much use. And cookie jar lid rolled off counter & cracked. We were able to replace the lid in one of their refiring specials. There are just sooooo many pieces available with the old patterns.

I love my Heirloom. I just wish they weren't so bulky. I tried using them for everyday but they took up way to much room in the cupboard and dishwasher. Now I never use them but I do have all the pieces around my kitchen.

I have Yorktowne. It was a gift and they are still sitting never used in the garage. I opened a plate, too big, bulky and heavy etc. Now what should I do with them? I think the lady who bought them for us rmembered I love the color blue, but really I use corelle stuff for every day.

I use corelle stuff for every day.
Ditto, and I love it, but I'm getting a little tired of our current pattern as well. We're renovating so the timing is good.

This is the second time around as far as Corellewear goes. My parents had originally given us the gold flowered pattern like they had from the 70's (you know the one :rotfl2: ). I still have a few pieces. I later bought another.

My mother still uses her original set from the 70's, I remember the day we bought it when I was a kid. I like some of the newer patterns and they almost never break. It would make sense to go that route again given it's cost and longevity, but I wonder if it's "good enough" for serving holiday meals and such?

Sorry OT, might begin a shoot off thread... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2250467&referrerid=70088

We got three boxes of the Heritage pattern for our wedding 13 years ago. One box is still in the basement, unopened. :)

I have 16 place settings of Yorktowne. We got it from my mom before our wedding because it was on sale at the local pottery... by 1 box, and get the 2nd for a penny! I still like the look of it, but have not used it in 2 years. My winter dishes with little snowmen are bigger plates, deep bowls, real coffee mugs, and they are lighter weight and more durable. I used to switch them out and use the Yorktowne 9 months of the year, but now I really just love my other dishes more.

I have Winterberry that was purchased during my Christmas phase many years ago. I have tons of it (12 place settings and every serving piece) but never use it. I also have a set of Mikasa Christmas dishes (16 place settings) that I also never use.

If I just had one more set, I could give one to each of the 3 kids and be done with it. :rotfl:

I have Napoli! I think it's so pretty. There are so mnay accompanying pieces. My only problem is when I microwave on the plates or in the bowls it comes out so hot but the food is not that hot. Has anyone else found this?

yes, the stoneware absorbs heat

I have the Northwinds pattern for my dinnerware and serving pieces. I use pieces from Pistolet to display in my kitchen.

I have Sky, which was discontinued years ago. Mine is starting to look a little chippy, so I may be buying something else soon.

My next dishes will be white and I will pick up patterned serving pieces that appeal to me to add the color.

I will say that I think the quality isn't as good in recent years as it was when I originally bought it.

I was wondering about this because my set was/is so old, I wouldn't even want to mention how long ago I received it..:rolleyes1

I have never had a piece break, shatter, or chip and when anything hit the floor (Hard enough that it actually "bounced" from spot to spot - LOL) it never broke - nor did it chip..:thumbsup2

I so wish I kept the entire set.. :(

When we got married, we bought Trousseau, which I loved (ands still do). But then they discontinued it. The Trousseau dishes now live in our cabin and we use them on a regular basis when we are there.

We then decided to buy a new pattern for here at home for every day. We went and bought some pieces of The Orchard. Then a few weeks later, I found out that they were also discontinuing that pattern. We went to the outlet and bought up extra pieces right away, and I even have an extra box of 4 place settings in the basement, just in case.

I'm not going to suggest a pattern to you, because with my track record, if I choose a new favorite, it will be discontinued before you could get to the store! :rotfl:

I started collecting Trousseau when I got married in 1994. The dishes have lasted, the marriage has not!! It discontinued shortly after, which was a bummer. I do get pieces from eBay and I love looking in yard sales and thrift shops. As it gets harder and harder to find, I think of starting a new pattern, but it's too hard for me and too sentimental.

I bought Midnight Sun when I got married...about 13 years ago..

A little off topic...I really love collecting pretty, inexpensive plates from Marshalls, TJ maxx, etc. My only requirement is that they have blue in them (any shade) and that each one cost no more than $4. I have 20 plates, 20 dessert plates and 20 saucers...each one is different. It is fun for dinner parties, and if one breaks, I don't lose sleep over it!

I have Juniper...and apparently it is still available! :thumbsup2 I would love to have some salad plates...:rolleyes1

I have Villa Della Luna for every day, and Holiday Spice (now discontinued) for Christmas.

This is the Villa Della Luna

And the Holiday Spice -

I almost wish I bought Heirloom for everyday, adding pieces for Christmas, etc., but the Holiday Spice is not in-your-face red and green, or cutesy... we end up using it from just before Thanksgiving until Jan/Feb.

I have Pfaltzgraf everyday dishes, but I don't know the name of the pattern(s). Back about 12 years ago when mix 'n match dishes were all the rage (about the same time the cheap Mexican pottery dishes were popular), they made a cream/blue/green line of about 4 different designs that all "went together". I have plates, bowls, and mugs with blue/green floral, stripes, solid rims, and dots, all on a cream background.

I have "April".

I was bummed when it was discontinued though about 2 years after I got it. :(

I have Yorktown...but I don't even use it anymore. It sits in my china cabinet. I don't like it anymore, it is so not my taste, I can't even believe it was my taste 25 years ago! I keep saying I am going to put it on e bay or craigslist but never do for some reason. Maybe beause people bought me pieces for presents and I don't feel like I should.

Now I have Corelle Calloway and I love it.

I received Remembrance for my wedding shower. Kindy peachy with flowers. A few years ago I bought 12 place settings (and some accessories) of Monaco Blue Mosaic. It is a pretty blue with mosaic patterns on the border. I do find the bowls chip fairly easy.
