Do you have a "never again" list? Which restaurants are on it and why?

Ours would have to be CRT (we ate there for lunch, but probably wouldn't go back regardless of the time of day). We ate there on our honeymoon and did enjoy the complimentary toasting flutes that we got, but our food was VERY mediocre for the price we paid. DH is fairly picky and there was only one thing on the menu that sounded even remotely edible to him. I'm much easier to please, but also have a difficult time finding something. Never again.

It is interesting, though, we loved WCC...and Teppan Edo...and Sci-Fi. :confused3

And we are eating breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, lunch at San Angel Inn, and dinner at Ragland Road on our next trip (we haven't been to any of these yet)...hoping to make our own decisions on each restaurant.

Fun thread to read, though! popcorn::

Tony's. First the food was gross, second the place was actually dirty. Never again.

Sci Fi Diner is our never-again. My husband is a sci-fi fan, so it seemed a natural fit during Star Wars Weekend. But the set-up is awkward, sitting two-by-two in "cars." We were under the impression that the big screen showed sci-fi movies or at least significantly long clips, but really it just shows a bunch of movie trailers. By about the middle of our meal, the trailers were repeating. As for the meal, YUCK! Everything (appetizers, main courses, and desserts) was a greasy, gloopy mess. I felt sick all night.

Chef Mickey's. Rudest server EVER! It was 5 years ago, and the way the situation was handled by the manager was inexcusable. I'm sure both of them are gone by now (Or I at least hope so), but it left such a bad taste in my mouth that I can't even fathom spending any more money there. Ever.

Edit- actuaqlly it was 10 years ago.

Never had any major disappointments. I have noticed that the same restaurant can have excellent food one day, but be a little off the next...

Rainforest Cafe at Downtown Disney. Horrible service...couldn't find a hostess for 10 mins, a lot of people came in after us were seated first, tables so jam packed we couldn't move, everthing was so loud we had to shout to each other to be heard, and the prices were ridiculous.

Even though I know how bad the food is and how over priced my wife and I stopped in the other night just for something different. After sitting 10 mins, looking at the menu and the food of the others that were so close to us we got up and left. Went over to Bongos.

Ohana - We were extremely disappointed with the service and food quality. The meats were dry and overcooked as expressed by some others. The shrimp was decent and we ate mostly that. Hard to flag down a waiter to get seconds or to refill our drinks. I actually had Ohana reserved on the last night of our trip last year thinking it would be the best meal but it turned out to be worst.

1. Whispering Canyon...it wasn't bad in the sense that anyone got sick or anything. When we first sat down, the antics in the restaurant seemed very funny and we were getting into it. But it got old very quickly. Spend an hour in this restaurant and you will hear one of the servers scream out, "WE NEED KETCHUP!!" at least a dozen times! It was funny the first 3 times, but then it was like, come on already! The horse races were cute in the beginning for the kids. My younger son enjoyed them. The food was good and all, but not enough to make us go back.

2. Restaurant Marrakesh...I was so excited for this place and thought it was going to be phenomenal. The food was good, atmosphere was nice, but it was nothing special, and we thought the food at Tangierine Cafe (Morocco CS) was much better. We won't be returning.

3. Le Cellier...tried it for the first (and the only) time a few weeks ago. I did not have very high expectations of this place, since I have read many times that it is the most overhyped restaurant at WDW. The quality of the steaks was very good, but DH and I found the food to be too salty. It was worth trying though, one time. There are other countries in Epcot that I enjoy much more than Le Cellier. And next time we will probably try Yachtsman Steakhouse instead...it's only a few more dollars per entree than the filet mignon cost, and the prices at Le Cellier will probably go up once March hits anyway and it becomes a signature restaurant for dinner. The pretzel bread was good and all, but I am not going to a restaurant just for that. I could get a delicious pretzel at the stand outside the Germany pavilion instead!

On the contrary...some we LOVED and many others can't stand are Chef Mickey's (both breakfast and dinner), Crystal Palace (both breakfast and dinner), 1900 Park Fare breakfast, 50s Prime Time, Sci-Fi, and Kouzzina.

The dinner buffets seem to be my least favorite (we've tired Chef Mickey's, CP, Boma, H&V ). I will never return to H&V...the worst meal we had in our three trips.

However, we really liked the breakfast buffets at 1900 Park Fare and Tusker house (and we'll be trying CP breakfast on our next trip). I think my expectations for breakfast combined with it being the start of the day, make the buffet set-up more enjoyable. By dinner time, I am ready to sit-down, relax and enjoy a nice meal served to me! :)

The Spirit of Aloha show. The show was a little boring (except for the fire-dancer!) and the food was mediocre. We went to Hoop Dee Doo two days before Spirit of Aloha, and it was just not ever comparable. HDD rocked, and while corny, was cute, and the food was delicious.

I have only two......

#1 - Le Cellier. Declining food was a disappointment. The final staw (I guess staws because it happend twice).....about 30 minutes after our meal was finished I became .... um ..... VERY ill. Lets just say I became closely familiar with every ladies room surrounding World Showcase. When finally empty....I was better.

Exact same thing happened the second time we tried Le Cellier on our following WDW trip. During that meal I also returned my appitizer...a first for me.

DH asked for the address to write to the head chef - VERY NICE ladies at the front counter asked if everything was OK. DH explained no, and why.....the ladies then commented ..... "we have been getting alot of that recently".

Whew......never again.

#2 - Cindy's table in the castle. We discovered when we were seated we were looking at the exact same menu we had enjoyed the night before.....at Boatrights at Riverside. Cindy's table was 40% more.

Nope - no way that was worth it. We asked to leave and they refunded our $$$.

Most of the meals I've had a t Disney were pretty much what I expected - comperable to chains liek Olvie Garden or Outback, btu much higher prices.

The only one I'd say is a "probably never again" was Les Chefs, just b/c DH& I such disappointing meals and such a terrible server, but it didn't make me sick or gross me out, so I might try it again some day. It is just not very high on my list at all.

I only have one 'never again'-ABC Commissary. Just vile. As others have said DHS is not a full day park for us so I can work around eating in that park.

1900 PF breakfast and dinner - the food at both was terrible and the noise level is ridiculous

WCC - same reasons as above

Nine Dragons - the food was horrid

Raglan Road - the food was just nasty nasty nasty

Boma dinner - the food was too sweet, too much vanilla and cinnamon flavoring in the non dessert items

I agree! It has gone down hill. You would only know this if you have been going for many years ! If you have nothing to compare, you just might like it. :rotfl:

I don't think we have a restaurant we would never go to again. There are plenty of restaurants we have never been to because the menus don't appeal to us. We tend to eat at the same places over and over. Boring, I know, but we have several picky eaters.

I find it really interesting that many of the restaurants getting a lot of votes on the "Never Again" list are favorites on the "Must-Do" list for other people.

As someone already stated, we really should try each restaurant and form our own opinion.

Places I will never eat at again:

Biergarten - Both myself and DW were sick to our stomachs after the meal. The worst food I have ever had at WDW and i'm 100% German. Plus the polka band seemed to be tired and not into their routine.

Crystal Palace - Food was good but service was awful. Had the same experiences as other with the characters for two adults. I was told "Bring a kid next time" from the CM who was following Chip or Dale after I asked to get a picture after he passed me 3 times. I will never go back to a character breakfast again.

Ohana- Worst experience at any Disney restaurant, even worse than CP. I had to wait two hours after my reservation time to get a table because they overbooked. After that, they sit us next to the dance floor which I or DW didn't mind. After 15 mins, they start the broom stick race which is when they allow the kids in the restaurant to go into chaos mode for 10 minutes and a kid proceeds to bash my shin in with the handle, microfracturing my shin bone. While in pain, the moron entertainer makes fun of the incident and calls me a baby on the mic. Not to mention, the food was literally thrown at my wife as the waiters were in a complete rush. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

50's Prime Time - I would probably eat there again but I had mixed service. One server acted normal (non-"motherly") which was dissapointing because they are supposed to be in character. The next time we went, the waitress wouldn't stop and literally harassed us everytime we said or did something. The food was good but I was hoping for better service.

There are no inherently "bad" restaurants at WDW, though all can experience off days. I've had less-than-stellar experiences at some of my favorite places (Citricos, Flying Fish, Bistro de Paris), but know that these are exceptions.

The most consistently "bad" place I think is Fulton's. Weighing price point against service and food, this place always disappoints me. I have had good dishes there (but c'mon, the crab does all the work when I order the Red King Crab), but the overall attitude there is one of indifference and that banana cream "pie" was the flabbiest thing I've ever seen - just gross.

For us it would have to be
Garden Grill, very long wait to be seated, the food was dry and I ate nothing except for the salad and biscuits,we felt like we were eating at the food court in the mall,as every time we rotated we saw the people waiting at the entrance to be seated ,characters were fun,not much else.
WCC just blah for us ,wouldn't go back!:wave2:
