Do you have a Neti Pot?

Sheesh people, really, it's not that bad. It looks worse than it actually is. It's nice warm water running through your nose. It feels very refreshing.

You people must be horrible in the sack!!;) Some unadventurous souls you are!:rolleyes1
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Just curious- what is it you do in the sack that involves a Neti Pot and snot?? Maybe I'm missing out.
 :scared1:

And yes, we do have one. My 13yo and I saw it on Oprah and he insisted on getting one since he seems to have allergies of some sort (and so do I). I've used it and it does seem to help and so has my 13yo. I have allergies all year long and always have to blow my nose, but I do seem better. But it is a weird thing for sure and I sure laughed when I saw it on Oprah. :rotfl:

Christine, my DH will be happy to know that now I will be more adventerous in the sack... :yay: :woohoo: ;)

I have had one for about 7 years. Every single time I got a cold, I would end up with a sinus infection. The gunk would never clear out of my sinuses. The neti pot was the solution. I haven't had a single sinus infection since (knock on wood).

My kids have used it, as well, but it isn't easy for little ones. I ended up buying one that is like a water-pik for them and it works great:

OK. When I get water up my nose in the pool, it hurts like ****. This feels good?? :confused3

C'mere baby, I got a head FULL of snot!

No, no snot pot here. Just a lot of Mucinex. Almost as sexy. :teeth:

Okay, all you squeamish people. Got kids? Ever use one of those snot suckers?! Same principle in reverse. Except you have to clean a snot sucker. Now THAT is GROSS!! :scared1:

With a Neti Pot everything runs out down the sink drain. Very little cleaning involved. ;) :rolleyes1

Yes, as with many other things, if you do it right it feels wonderful! :goodvibes Also there is no chlorine in the saline solution used in a Neti Pot. ;) At least I don't add any. :p

Whenever I go under water, I hold my nose because I HATE that feeling when water goes in. I never learned to swim underwater for that very reason. However, the nasal irrigation treatments don't cause that uncomfortable feeling at all. I have no clue why that is, but honestly, they do feel great! I suffer from allergies all year round and that thing really helps.

In addition to allergies, I also have a disease called Sjögren's Syndrome which is an autoimmune disease that makes your body dry out like a prune. I find that the nasal irrigations really help treat that condition. No more nose bleeds for me since I started using it. There are lots of variations on the Neti Pot. I use a big plastic syringe like thing that my allergist gave me. It works pretty much the same way but I find it to be less awkward.

The first time I did it I thought I was drowning, but not bad like at the pool since it's not forced up there. I do have flashbacks of the ocean, though, since it's saltwater.

Where do you get them. I saw it on Oprah but I don't know where they are sold. DH has severe allergies and I really believe it would help him.:)

There are tons of them on eBay! And the OP has posted a link to a site where you can buy them but I think it said they are on backorder due to high demand.

I watched the video I can't stop laughing :rotfl:!

My DH ordered ours from some website, but I don't know what one. He loves to find the cheapest price for things, so I turned that over to him. :)

I was given one as a gift once:confused3

Someone gave you this as a gift! :lmao: :lmao: :scared1:

Wow - you rated high on someone's gift giving scale! :rotfl2:

Can you imagine what you would have gotten if someone didn't like you? :rotfl: ;) ;)

I love these things. I used to get horrible headaches from the pressure in my sinuses. No matter how much I blew my nose I couldn't clear it out. And decongestant products just dried the mucus out and made it harder to clear out.

But that netti pot is a amazing for cleaning out my sinuses. No more headaches.

FYI you can also purcahse them at most health food stores. I know WholeFoods carries them.
