Hi fellow Disers,do you gave a first day traditon when you go to WDW?I will start,we always arrive on Sunday at the first part of December each year since 1991.We settle in at Old Key West resort and have late lunch at O'Livia's Cafe. Then we always go to HDDR dinner show at 7:15,after the show we go on hayride.Hayride goes through FW campgrounds and see all the Christmas lights on campers,it is great. Then good night's rest and Magic Kingdom here we come on our first full day.During our stay we always go to MVMCP,Candlelight Processional and Osbourne Lights. We also must have a hot dog from Casey's and a steak from LeCellier at Epcot. So what are your WDW traditions, doesn't have to be just first day? Thank you in advance for sharing.:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes Danny

We arrive on Saturday and despite the Saturday crowds, head for the MK as soon as we drop our bags off in our room (or at the front desk if room isn't ready). We ride Pirates of the Carribean which usually doesnt' have too much of a line and then have a late lunch/early dinner at Pecos Bill's. We also see the nighttime parade at the MK on that first night.

We usually hold AP's so our first day tradition is checking in, stashing stuff, wife completely unpacks and puts her stuff in the drawers, me, man, live out of suitcase and utilize doorknobs. We put on our suits and head to the pool, have lunch and some drinks, purchased at grocery stop, and then head to the MK. Meandering walk through, like the Emporium, sniff Casey's and on to Adventureland. Attractions we try to catch, POC, SM, HM, TTA, and BLY and walk down east side of Main Street and back to resort. Our evening meal is always pizza and beer at FW Trails End, catch the EWP and back to resort pool for togetherness, reminencing of the day and past trips and a few more liabations. Off to bed with a DVD movie and rest time its full speed second day. Hardly changes, even after 38 some visits.

after unpacking and settling in, off to EP to ride spaceship earth first thing

When we arrive we always head over to the MK and to eat at Casey's Corner. I dont know what it is about it but its something we have to do. Then we are ready for the rest of our vacation.....I was so happy when I got the Casey's Corner building to add to my Xmas village..

Straight to MGM and ride ToT and RnR. Then we know we are officially on vacation in WDW! That will be our plan NEXT WEDNESDAY (3/14) !!!!!!!!:yay: :yay:

We always have such a long travel day, that our first day is a rest day...go to DTD for dinner and ice cream. Then Magic Kingdom for our first park day...and always Pirates of the Caribbean for our first ride. :goodvibes

We usually take a flight in the afternoon or evening to Orlando and because of the time difference, it is usually later in the evening when we get there. Every trip since 2003 has found us getting into our hotel late at night (around 10 or 11 pm) and heading out to our late night restaurant, Perkins. There is something wonderful about eating a late night breakfast to start off our Disney vacation! :cool1:

Arrive on Sunday, settle in at the room, rest from travel, then late dinner at Ohana's during the MK fireworks, then to MK for extra magic hours.

I get to MK like, seconds after getting to the hotel room/backing our motorhome into a site at Fort Wildnerness. Then, I take in the ambiance of Main Street for about, oh 5 minutes... Because then I rememeber I am less than a 5 minute walk to the Aloha Isle stand! Usually, I get a Dole Whip, go on Pirates, then head off to Splash Mountain, HM, Peter Pan, and Philhar. Wishes is a must for the first day, too!

After checking in we rest and look around the resort and then we head to Downtown Disney where we spend a couple of hours. We always eat at Earl of Sandwich our first night.

Not the arrival day, but the first morning is always MK first thing. :)

On the last day we usually have a character breakfast in the MK area. Then we got to MK until it is time for our flight. :(

ETA-I like to spend our last night in Epcot.

Arrive at POR, check in, have lunch in the food court. Then we take the boat to DTD. Later we will head to Ohana for dinner. and catch the fireworks. Can't wait to to repeat this day again!! :goodvibes

We usually dont arrive early enough to use a full day on our tickets, so we check-in, go to our room, lounge by the pool (SAB at BC), sometimes go to the BW, and then it's off to Boma for dinner!

As long as the first thing I do is walk under the train and in far enough to see Main Street and the castle, I'm not picky after that and DD usually chooses what to do first. :)

If we arrive too late to head to a park, we either order pizza and unpack or flop into bed. Depends exactly how late we get in. lol

Because w elive in the UK we have a 9 hour flight (usually need to be up by 5am) and a 5 hour time diff. Due to this all we want to do is sleep the first evening, but the first proper day we always spend the first half at TL - riding crush n gusher first and then we go back to the resort to change and choose a park restaurant to go do a late lunch

We always completely unpack our suitcases, have dinner at Chef Mickey's and then it's back to the resort. Gotta get to bed early so we're ready for our 8:05 breakfast at the Crystal Palace and our day at the Magic Kingdom!!! Can't wait until May 28th so we can do all our "traditions" again!! :thumbsup2

We arrive and head to our resort - Caribbean Beach the last two times. If we have an early enough flight we go to Blizzard Beach for the afternoon or just go to the resort pool. Then that first night we always eat at Chef Mickey's. Our first real day in the parks is always spent at Magic Kingdom.

Old tradition (to be renewed when kids are older): Put bags in room (do not unpack) Ride one full Monorail loop in the cab, then back to the room to unpack.

New modified tradition: Ride to MK in the front cab (try telling a 2.5 year old that we are going to go past MK and not get off).

we always try to go in Jan and fly into Orlando around 11 am or so. We either have either checked into hotel and go straight to epcot since it is open late, or we go to off site place until about 6 or so and then check into hotel. Have gone to Gatorland, Kennedy Space Center, and Silver Springs. Our first full day is then spent at the park that is open the earliest on that day
