im seriously considering getting the kids one for xmas ( due to a lack of a brighter idea ! ) they already have and use the ds lite

Are they worth the upgrade in your opinion ?

thanks :)

I've got one...I personally feel their better made and they feel more durable. Screens are bigger and they've got obviously little extras such as camera etc. If the other DS's were still in good working order though i wouldn't upgrade unless their was an exceptional good deal on as i don't think it's worth it.

just to add my own thoughts to this - it all comes down to "cartridge slot" vs camera.

The DSi gains a couple of very low quality cameras (enough to play around with but definitely not as good as a camera or even a phone). In exchange, it loses the cartridge slot for the older Gameboy Advance games and some accessories (guitar hero NEEDS this slot for example for its guitar adapter).

So - for me, I wouldn't buy a DSi because I use my cartridge slot too much. If you don't, then maybe it's worth it if you'd use the cameras. If you wouldn't, then it's probably not worth the upgrade as I don't think it offers much more.

I'm another who thinks it's not worth it!!

We bought Adam one when we were in Florida in September not a lot of difference really he likes the camera (not great quality) and recording thing games are the same and the screen is a little bigger

I'm still on my (well DW's) original DS. Don't see the point in upgrading personally, mainly as my m3 card wouldn't work on the DSi :)

:goodvibes

Glad you're sorted Nat. Anybody got any ideas for my 73 yo MIL - she's the only one we're stuck on - I feel a new thread coming on:lmao::lmao:

Glad you thought of something Nat, it does get harder and harder each year.
