Do you guys think the paid LL for RSR and RotR are worth the cost?

I'm taking a trip on Wednesday the 23rd, starting at DCA this time. Itinerary is to do either Incredicoaster or GotG Tower, and get a LL for one while I wait out the other, then decide on RSR, then head over to Disneyland and get in some combination of Indy, Pirates, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain (if it's open by next week, last I heard it's closed), and finish out with Matterhorn. Then buy some candy and pins on the way out.

I really like RotR but paying nearly $30 to get on it without a wait is a steep price IMO, but so is the wait itself, so it's really hard to gauge whether it's worth the price versus the time spent.

How bad do the queues tend to be on Wednesday? I went on a Tuesday last time thinking it would be a pretty calm day and it ended up being a 9/10 on the crowded scale, so I'm hoping Wednesday won't be quite as cluttered.

Use single rider line for RSR and go ride RotR late in the day. There, I just saved you a couple of hours in line and $60. You're welcome.

Note how I did not recommend RD for RotR (because I don't)
If you can get there early, RD for RSR is worth it though

Planning to leave at 7:30 and hopefully be there by 9AM.

Nice to know RSR has a single rider line, definitely will do that then. After those three rides I'll probably have a cooldown period at the terrace, been itching to try an Avalon Cooler.

Space Mountain also has a single rider line as well?

I would recommend combining single rider with rope dropping RSR if you can arrive early. Get the LL for Guardians and do single rider for Incredicoaster.

Indy I think will be difficult if you are starting in DCA and don't plan to stay at the parks late. At any rate it will lock up your LL for two hours impacting your ability to use it for other rides. Space Mountain single rider can be very useful if they aren't publicizing out front too much.

We have never paid to ride RotR. We watch the app and try to find the lull. We can usually tolerate a wait time of up to 60 minutes on that one because if all goes smoothly, that wait time is often includes the whole ride experience. I don't know that there are really any patterns to when this lull might be so I can't offer more pointers there I'm afraid.

ETA: Ah, just saw your most recent post. RSR single rider will definitely have built up by 9AM as people see the standby line wait time climbing. It will still be a shorter wait than standby. You are better off the earlier you can arrive at the park.

Usually stay to around 8PM at night.

So start with RSR and Incredicoaster Single Rider lanes and afterwords LL should be ready for GotG?

I'm probably going to cool off for an hour at the Magic Key Terrace after those are done, so by the time I'm done there and get over to Disneyland I should be close to ready for the next LL.

Single rider is the way to go for RSR.

Good times for Rise are 930am, 430pm or keeping an eye on the app for it being down and then trying to hit it right when it goes back up.

I second @Lumpy1106. It doesn't sound like you're going for a commando type day, where maybe one or two LLSP would be helpful.

Wednesday is an early theme entry day for resort guests at DCA, so even if you were at the park for rope drop, you'd be behind the people who spend their 30 minutes in Cars Land waiting to hop in the RSR queue.

ETA: you will have 2 chances at LL for GoTG, since it becomes Monsters After Dark starting at 3 pm. You can pull a LL for each version should you so desire.

I try to be somewhat efficient with my ride itinerary, I don't have to cover the entire roster in one day but I try to ride the ones I enjoy at least in one trip.

I usually arrive at 9AM-10AM depending on traffic and leave between 8PM-9PM.

Last month, the RSR single rider line was backed up to the bridge you walk under when first entering the queue. It still only took 20-25 minutes to load. So don't let a "long" line scare you too much!

Last time I was there the line for Pirates was over an hour. At ten in the morning. I couldn't believe it.

And I was led to believe Tuesdays and Wednesdays in general are supposed to be calm compared to Mondays, Fridays or the weekend.

October has gotten absolutely nuts due to the Halloween festivities. My September visits were pleasant, but things got tough at DL once DCA shut for Oogie Boogie. Just go in with realistic expectations and have a great time!

It was February last time I went.

I'll do my best, I just get frustrated when park capacity gets elbow to elbow where it's just a sea of ears and you have to fight just to push through the moving crowd.

I have seen a wide variety of thoughts and ideas, all good ones indeed. Here is my $.02 worth, actually more like $2.45 now because of inflation.

For the last two years I have gone to DL with one of my DD's. It was worth it to us to pay for RSR and RotR since we tend to visit infrequently. Plus it was only the 2 of us. If we had the whole family of five I might think twice.

If our ride plan happened to put us in that area we paid for the convenience vs walking back across the park during a lull in the wait time and hoping it would stay that way when we arrived. If you are in the parks for only a day or two that could factor into your decision.

In the end, do what works best for you. Have fun.

I agree with everyone that if you time it right, you don't HAVE to buy a LL. But if I was there for only one day and it's a priority I would probably budget for a LL and then play it by ear if I need it or not.

I'd also consider if I'd be back at the park within a few weeks to ride those, or if it's a once a year type of trip and your only chance for a while.

Have fun!

I had a lull in trips because of being unemployed and focusing my efforts finding a job, but since I finally have I'm going to try to get in at least three trips between now and when my Key expires in February, incase I don't renew it.

My general trend would be a trip every 3 months or so.

Currently, POTC is on G+, so you can get a LL for it if you want to ride it!

We just got back last night. We go that weekend in October yearly, and it is always wall to wall people and long SB waits. So use LL generously. Also, use “modify” to your advantage to move LLs earlier or later than you originally booked them for, if that is a better time for you to ride relative to where you are in the park or in your day.

RSR single rider is not usually as short at the LLSP line, but it moves pretty quickly. I would definitely do single rider for that, and save your money for ROTR LLSP.

ROTR to me usually has an intolerable wait without LLSP, unless we hit it at RD (and it is operating!), which we try to do on EE mornings, after we ride SM x 2, then line up in FL to walk with purpose to ROTR. Sometimes this doesn’t work, and then we will decide if we want to pay extra for it. The LLSP here just lets you immediately into the pre-show room. I have never waited more than 30 seconds in the LLSP line on this ride.

For those rides at DCA, I would enter the park and immediately book a LL for IC. Return time should not be too far out at that point in the day (and you can modify it to try for an earlier return time and often easily get it moved up to almost immediately). Go to RSR and ride single rider while waiting for IC return time. Ride IC and immediately book GOTG, again using modify to move the time sooner. If the time is 2 hours away, you could ride other things or go for your break at this time. Once you ride GOTG, you can book Indy LL immediately, even though you have not yet hopped (as long as after 11am). That one will likely have the time that is furthest out.

Space does have single rider, but it is not always open. Hopefully it is on your day! Sounds like a fun, whirlwind day!

There aren't any Ramen houses in the parks are there? I love Bengal Barbecue but I think it might be time to switch it up a bit.
