Do you give away your extras?

We were checking out and as usual bought too much at Super Target. So right before we left the Boardwalk Villas, I was standing in the hall giving away the extras.

One lucky couple got a nice bottle of wine. Another family took the un-opened cheese curls.

Some people looked at me like I had 3 heads.

Just wondering if anyone else does this?

I did it once at AKL when we had a ton of bottled water left. I also experienced a couple of strange looks but a lovely couple from England was thrilled to get the water.

Usually I leave it for housekeeping.

We're busy packing to leave and get to the airport, or spending our last day in the parks. There hardly seems to be much in the way of people around in the halls when we're leaving anyway. :confused3 I leave everything behind in the room/villa and just figure housekeeping will take it and use it, or give it away.

The last time we left a few cans of soda in the fridge. I also had half a case of water bottles left. I found a couple with two little kids and offered it to them. It was actually pretty funny. I offered it to the husband and he turned to his wife and she shook her head yes. :teeth: and then he turned to me and said yes. I also leave bottles of shampoo in the room sometimes.

Yes, we have done the same thing, if someone is around who would be able to use the items. A couple of trips ago, we had bought those long foam noodles that you use to float on in pools for a dollar apiece at Walmart. We gave them to a bunch of kids who were at the pool the last day we were leaving.

We'll offer unopened food to people if there are people around when we are leaving. If not, we leave it for the Mousekeepers.

Yes - When we fly we usually buy some stuff for the kids to play with in the dollar aisle at the supermaket. Bubbles, jump rope, water wings, bouncy balls, blow up beach ball, pail and shovel etc. When we stay a week or more its worth it for the $5-10 we spend and then we find a family at the pool or playground on the last day to pass them on to. Most times the kids have made friends so we have had a bit of contact and it dosen't seem so weird. Other times its a bit awkward at first but the families are usually happy in the end.

I have only done bottled water once and usually don't have much of anything else left.

Lately we have been driving so everything comes to and from with us - way to much stuff I must admit.

The night before we went to MK I made a mad dash for Walmart, I was able to get 2 Mickey signature books with pens for $5.00 each. I have 2 kids 5 & 14. I called my 14 year old and asked if he wanted one and he said yes BUT the next day on the trolly ride into the park he was embarresed to be holding it so I gave it to a little girl who was making her first trip to MK.
She was tickled pink !!
